Opposites attract in this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy about a free-spirited lawyer who is determined to find the perfect match for the grumpy bachelor at her friend's wedding, from the author of The Dating Plan. After a devastating break-up, celebrity-obsessed lawyer Zara Patel is determined never to open her heart again. She puts her energy into building her career and helping her friends find romance through the wedding season. She's never faced a guest at the singles table she couldn't match, until she crosses paths with the sinfully sexy Jay Donovan. Former military security specialist Jay has no time for love. His life is about working hard, staying focused, and winning at all costs. When charismatic Zara crashes into his life, he's thrown into close contact with exactly the kind of chaos he wants to avoid. Worse, they're stuck together for the entire wedding season. So they make a deal. She'll find his special someone if he introduces her to his celebrity clients. But when their arrangement brings them together in ways they never expected, they realize that the perfect match might just be their own.

Zara has a larger-than-life personality while Jay is much more reserved. Zara promises to find Jay his perfect match while they both dodge the meddling aunties during the wedding season.
Zara was a bit much at times but overall it was a cute opposites attract romance.

A fun opposite attracts rom-com. An easy read, perfect for a chaotic holiday week. I really liked Zara, she‘s someone I‘d like to be friends with.

Book 5 for #dashingdecember

The start of my February TBR:
Roll 1: The Singles Table by Sara Desai
Roll 2: The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
Roll 3: Elsewhere by Alexis Schatkin

#Roll100 is definitely helping with my #ReadOffMyShelf challenge.

I also set-up my TBR spreadsheet to randomize the titles. So each month it will be a surprise which ones will be that month‘s #roll100 & #bookspin 😀 I do love a good spreadsheet!

IndoorDame I really liked Winter People! 2y
wanderinglynn @IndoorDame good to hear! 2y
PuddleJumper That is such a great idea! Is that an easy thing to set up? 2y
wanderinglynn @PuddleJumper yes! I listed all the books and in column A, I used the formula =RANDBETWEEN(1,317) and copied that formula for every book entry. 317 because I have 317 on my list. When I read a book, I delete that row, & update the formula to 316. Then I resort by column A and it re-numbers all the remaining books. 2y

Mehso-so

Zara is that obnoxious acquaintance who brags so loudly in mixed company about her sexual exploits that you suspect she actually never gets laid, but she grows on you. There are some very funny parts about absurd levels of competitive matchmaking by families as Zara tried to avoid any commitment at all, but the overall cheesiness of this rom-com made it a so-so for me. There is even a desperate airport love scene 🤢. #foodandlit #india

A day late for #india #foodandlit but wanted to share this horrifying, cringey moment when MC Zara's dad presents some random young man for inspection at a wedding celebration. I realize you get used to the culture you are brought up in, but if I had experienced 1/100th of the pressure to marry from my family as the people in this book, I would have moved across the country upon turning 18 and never come back. So much meddling!

Catsandbooks Definitely a different culture. My Indian friends have all had arranged marriages, but they still have a choice if they don't like someone. 2y
LitStephanie @Catsandbooks good to know. This wasn't about arranged marriages per se, just ridiculous, competitive match making by the Aunties. 2y

Went rogue at work (again) and while I was at it, decided to finish off my day by opening a box of fiction and prepping it for accessioning tomorrow. Obviously I now have more books on my tbr 😳

This cover is so pretty!

A great enemies-to-lovers story full of nosy Aunties and well meaning cousins. Zara is the life of the party and Jay is seriously into brooding. This is one of the few times where I did not crush on the hero. I wanted to be besties with Zara. Jay was cool and all, but she brought joy to those around her by being bold, smart, and witty. I loved the twist of her being in matchmaking competition with the old Aunties. Fun conclusion to the series.

#bookspinbingo board is ready to go! This is the first month I've added options for more mood reads and, of course, those numbers have been selected for #bookspin and #doublespin. So, I am unable to announce any titles, but I am very confident that I will be able to complete this month's challenge. (I see many unplanned romance novels in my future.)

@TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Looks great!! And if you're reading romances this month, I'm not sure if you know that @kimmypete1 and @MidnightBookGirl are hosting a #Swoonathon for the month as well!! 3y
Zuhkeeyah @TheAromaofBooks I‘m casually participating. This bingo board has priority but I will be trying for a couple of the romance themed ones. Thank you for the heads up! 😊 3y

Loved it more than book 1, but not as much as book. Still fun, but would have lived a bit more of an update on Layla and Daisy.
