This was another really good novel by Michael Connelly. Harry Bosch and Renee Ballard are working to close cold cases. They have lots of trials along the way. They close one case and the Harry goes back to the case he feels he must solve. He travels to Key West to confront the person he believes killed a family of four who were brutally murdered and buried in the desert. 4.5/5

Wow, Bosch books never fail, now I‘m all caught up. Ballard & Bosch have been working cold cases for a while , they work well together. Bosch is particularly intent on finding his white whale, a murderer evil enough to take out a whole family. Connelly is very good in describing how politics & appearances influence higher ups in policing. #seriesLove2024

Excited to receive 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫, the 5th book in 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲's Renee Ballard series, from Grand Central Publishing. 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 since Ballard is teaming up with iconic retired detective Harry Bosch who has been pursuing a “white whale“ (a man responsible for the murder of his entire family). Will Harry find him & ensure that he is brought to justice? Will savor this one by the pool.

The latest Bosch & Ballard novel finds the duo searching for the “white whale” - a man responsible for the brutal death of an entire family. Well done.

#MarchMadnessReadathon Day 2

Well, I guess that means I'm all caught up with Connelly's books, at least until the next Lincoln Lawyer installment, due to come out in November. I really enjoyed this one. Harry's slowed down and grown more introspective as he's aged, and I enjoy spending time with him. He reminds me of my dad, with his sense of justice that gets him in trouble and his lone-wolf habit of disappearing without letting the people who care about him know.

Silo likes when I have a free morning to read. He's purring up a storm while I try to savor the rest of this novel.

I'd been saving the latest Bosch novel for a rainy day because I know Connelly ALWAYS delivers, and I was not disappointed. Once I pick up one of his books, that's a wrap on any remaining plans for the day. Luckily my covid symptoms have gotten MUCH better and it was (actually) a rainy day, so this was the perfect way to spend a lazy day off. Can't say much about the plot itself without spoilers, but damn if the ending didn't throw me for a loop!

Bosch and Ballard never let me down. I won‘t say much more because I‘m not a spoiling asshole, but this one left me a little verklempt.

After being on the library waitlist foreverrrr with no end in sight, I saw an $11 copy on sale at the airport during my layover and didn't hesitate to snap it up 👏🏽 I love me see Harry Bosch! ❤️

Great read . I love all his books

My son got me this book for Christmas (he knows me so well!) and I read it right away. As usual, Harry Bosch is focused on solving cold cases and finding justice for the dead, this time as a volunteer at the newly reformed Open-Unsolved Unit headed by Renee Ballard. But time is taking its toll on him and it feels increasingly urgent that he find one last murder suspect, no matter what the cost. Another great entry in an exceptional series.

There‘s a new #Star in the sky, with the new Michael Connelly book that was published in early November. Definitely a case of follow that star!

Great storyline and interaction with the characters.
The ending though 😞 love this series.

I simultaneously like this book and am extremely unhappy with some things that happen near the end. It‘s worth the read though, and I may finally be warming up to Ballard. I have no new walking book on deck yet, so I‘ll have to look for one. Instead of listening to an audiobook on my last walk, I listened to Fleetwood Mac in honor of Christine McVie. #audiowalk

Well, this is a far cry from A Wish for Winter! It‘s good to be back with Bosch & Ballard again. There‘s a new Open Unsolved Unit that Ballard heads; she recruits Harry for it. There were terrible thunderstorms last night but the afternoon was beautiful for a #audiowalk.

By strange coincidence (this is only the second time)I read two books in a row that share the same type of hero and theme; this time the latest Rebus and Bosch. Both grumpy lone wolves, retired, with a private code of honor that doesn‘t fit the world anymore. Both see no way out except that of going over the ultimate line. Brought back a memory of a shocking, indelible, episode of a gritty police series titled Baltimore. Same theme.

🎧 Bosch 24, Ballard 5. Another great Bosch book! My favorite Ballard book to date the chapter POV switches back & forth between Ballard & Bosch and the narrators are fantastic!

Bosch cones back at Ballard s behest to a cold case unit. Bosch is Bosch & and soon he‘s up to his old tricks.

Great police procedural! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My irrational fear is that Bosch, although a fictional character, might not rally again. What‘s the LAPD without Harry?!? Sigh. Another great police procedural!
