Tuukula slid a plate onto the table - fried egg with mushrooms from a glass jar, heaped on top of a piece of square toast, buttered thickly.

#FoodAndLit #Greenland was a challenge on the food side, so I decided to recreate this breakfast from the tagged book. Yummy! Probably more suitable to someone who needs to hunt outside near the Arctic Circle than someone who sits at a desk, but a nice treat on a Monday morning.

TheBookHippie Oh nice!!!! This was a difficult food month! 3w

A year ago a boy on the northern western coast of #Greenland disappeared. When new constable Petra answers her first phone call, she finds she‘s become the missing persons department at Nuuk. With the help of an elderly shaman and his young daughter, Petra follows the leads to find the boy—the first hint being that he took a narwhal‘s rare double tooth and may be trying to sell it. An excellent start to this series. #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

PaperbackPirate Lol from the title I was picturing a kid with one giant tooth coming out of his mouth. 😂 I‘m glad you liked it! 🦄 3w

#foodandlit #Greenland

Police Constable just completed her training when she lands a missing person‘s case. She travels far north to investigate, where she is immersed in the beauty of the land & its people. I enjoyed this short novella & want to read more of this author‘s work.

I enjoyed this novella set in Greenland. It‘s the prequel to a series of mysteries set in the country by a Danish author so I want to try and seek out more if I can find them in English. This is actually the second or third mystery I‘ve read set in Greenland and for whatever reason they work for me. #FoodAndLit #Greenland

Texreader I liked the one novella I‘ve read by him so far. I‘ll continue to read his books too 1mo

This was my pick for #FoodAndLit #Greenland.

It follows newly trained Constable Petra Jensen (who is apparently a character seen in some of the other novels by this author) searching for a boy who has been missing for 12 months.

It features an interesting cast of characters, set in remote Greenland. I felt this ended quickly, but it is a novella! There was closure, but because I feel like it needed something a bit more, it‘s a lower pick for me.

Bookwormjillk I read this today too! 1mo

Started this one for #FoodAndLit #Greenland this morning (after much deliberation about what to read).

These are my two reading buddies. Ash is 6 now, and Pippin is nearly 11 weeks. This is as close as they have gotten so far and it lasted about 30 seconds!
Ash is so fed up in fact that some mornings he sits on the stairs so she can‘t go near him 🤣
I am sure they will be friends in no time!

Maybe then I can get some SOLID reading done 🤭

Read4life They are gorgeous!! 💙🐶💙🐶💙 1mo
Crazeedi Are they labs? We have a black lab too! They're the best 1mo

Tamra Cutie! Yes, they will be friends and likely chase each other around. The cat will be the boss however. That‘s how it has always been here, anyway. 😊 1mo

After reading the short story yesterday, I had to try a Greenland Missing Persons novella. The mystery was good, the setting should have felt bleak and isolated, but the characters were so interesting and warm that it eased the tension a bit. This is not hard boiled Arctic Noir, it‘s not nearly bloody enough for that, but I definitely want to read more.

DGRachel My only complaint is that the characters overlap in this series and the Greenland Crime series and even the author can‘t give an opinion on which books to start with. Constable Jensen actually appears in the earlier Greenland Crime novels, apparently, but not as a constable. If I‘ve read the blurbs correctly, it‘s actually later in her timeline. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3y
Tamra I purchased this and Seven Graves on Kindle today! 🤞🏾 3y
DGRachel @Tamra I used Kobo points for Seven Graves. I may pick read that one once I finish the other books I‘m currently reading. 😁 3y
Cathythoughts Sounds good. Stacking. 3y
