Your next stay-up-all-night thriller, about identical triplets who have a nasty habit of killing their boyfriends, and what happens when the youngest commits their worst crime yet: falling in love with her mark. Make him want you.Make him love you.Make him dead. Sissy has an...interesting family. Always the careful one, always the cautious one, she has handled the cleanup while her serial killer sisters have carved a path of carnage across the U.S. Now, as they arrive in the Arizona heat, Sissy must step up and embrace the family pastime of making a man fall in love and then murdering him. Her first target? A young widower named Edison--and their mutual attraction is instant. While their relationship progresses, and most couples would be thinking about picking out china patterns and moving in together, Sissy's family is reminding her to think about picking out burial sites and moving on. Then something happens that Sissy never anticipated: She begins to feel protective of Edison, and before she can help it, she's fallen in love. But the clock is ticking, and her sisters are growing restless. It becomes clear that the gravesite she chooses will hide a body no matter what happens; but if she betrays her family, will it be hers?

The ending was surprising and the final paragraphs sent frigid icicles up and down my spine.

Book 78📚 2.8⭐️

Based on the summary, I had different hopes for this book. 😕

The ending was lack lustre… I feel like there was the potential for so much more!

3½⭐
It‘s not a bad story by any means, it has decent writing, excellent narration, and a unique take on the “serial killer” theme. But overall, at the end of the story, when I look back on it as a whole…I don‘t know if there was proper justification for everything that goes down within these pages. Although that‘s something you may have to decide for yourself, I'm definitely not trying to discourage anyone from reading this.

BeeMagical I‘m just about finished this!!😬 2y
AudiobookingWithLeah @BeeMagical How are you feeling about it? 2y
BeeMagical I‘m on the fence. It‘s a lot of repetition. I feel like I know where it‘s going, but we‘ll see😂 2y

This is my updated board. Things are still up in the air for April, but we'll see where we land in the next week or two. The Shards has been my favorite book of all this year, but that could change. I also really loved the other two books on the board. I was disappointed that The Body Lies and The Shards went up against each other because I truly loved The Body Lies, too. It's fun to go back and see what I've read and what I've loved!

KathyWheeler I loved The Body Lies; I‘ll have to checkout The Shards. I haven‘t read Bret Easton Ellis is a very long time. 2y
BookLineNSinker The Shards knocked my socks off, but I love BEE'S style! I love the way he writes so that you know exactly who the character is meant to be. It 2y

I really really liked this book. Being a triplet isn't the only thing that makes Sissy and her sisters special. They are also serial killers. After being abandoned at birth, the girls were raised in the harsh conditions of foster care and group homes. After they turn 18, they move in together and when one of them murders their lover in cold blood, it's only the beginning. Many twists and turns, it was a definite ouch for me. Solid ✴️✴️✴️✴️!

This one has my attention! The characters aren't very likeable, but I'm dying to know what is going to happen next. It's a very compelling premise. Triplets that survive love only by killing their partner. So far, I'm rapt!

IndianBookworm What a premise! 2y

Wow! None of these women is particularly likeable, though I suppose Sissy is the most of the three. Not only did Sissy fall in love with Edison, she even made friends (something the sisters also tend to avoid beyond how the “friend” can be of help to them getting away with what are doing) with the neighbour. I was really not sure how this book was going to end and it really surprised me, but I thought it was done really well.
