Well this was an interesting read. As a parent myself it makes me glad my girls never went through a biting phase. The plot is quite twisted and you're never quite sure until the reveal exactly who is involved. I did figure out some of it but not all. Its a little creepy at times but I enjoyed the murder. The ending was well done if felt a little rushed once past the big reveal. Its hard to like any of the characters. #Netgalley 3*

This really made me think. About motherhood and the lengths we‘ll go to keep our kids comfortable. Mysterious murder at an upscale private school, unreliable narrators, 4 year olds that start to crave drinking blood, and parents who see fit to satisfy that craving? This is a bit bonkers but well written and so compelling. Baker writes a great psychological, suburban thriller that makes you question everything. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

There were things I really appreciated about this book... the metaphor (though heavy-handed) worked for me, but it would have worked better in a novella format. Maybe stronger on the satire? I think it took itself a bit too seriously, and the ending left me unsatisfied.

This one is a weird and wild ride 😅 It's a lot. Kinda silly, kinda brilliant. Definitely one big metaphor for how much of ourselves we moms give (and are EXPECTED to give) to our little ones.

This book got better as it went along. Surprisingly nuanced tale of motherhood and its sacrifices. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I feel like an outlier here because most didn‘t really like this all that much, but I‘m over here loving it. It didn‘t feel like any other murder mystery out there, that‘s for sure. Yeah, it did wax on about the woes and worries of motherhood quite a lot, so if that‘s not something you‘ll be into…than it might not be a good fit. January LaVoy was flipping fantastic, she might have something to do with why I enjoyed this as much as I did.

It‘s a pick, but not a super pick. I found myself skimming pages in the middle of the book, and it seemed that I‘d get interested in what was happening to one character only to be met with another mom‘s POV in the following chapter. The book does spotlight an interesting theme of how much a mom gives up of herself by being a mom, but there were many storylines happening, too much for my beginning of the school year teacher brain.

“She hates those (stretch marks), has no interest in making peace with them. And this is to say nothing of her breasts, which used to be quite nice before her kids literally ate them. Lately, she‘s been able to crunch them up in her fists like stress balls. They didn‘t use to do that.” 😩😭🤣🤣🤣

Such #DramaQueens in this mommy thriller, but one of the FUNNIEST thrillers I‘ve read. The police interviews of the kids were SO WELL DONE in the audiobook! 🤩👍🏻

A classroom of 4 year olds starts drinking their mother‘s blood. Then their teacher is murdered. There are tiny bloody footprints near her. A group of 3 classroom moms with different feelings about the teacher start looking into who she is while trying to protect their kids from blame.

Megabooks #TitlesAndTunes I picked Hole‘s Celebrity Skin, which I loved to listen to when I felt extra dramatic in college! I still love it and have it on multiple Spotify playlists. 🤩 1y

BarbaraBB And I love that you chose Hole. Courtney Love is the number 1 #dramaqueen! 1y
Megabooks @yourfavouritemixtape for sure! They never seemed to get the respect they deserved as a band! 1y
squirrelbrain The book sounds bonkers! 😜 1y
Megabooks @BarbaraBB it was a really funny book! There was just so much drama around Courtney and Kurt‘s relationship and the aftermath. Some of it she brought on as well, but Hole really put out some great songs on their own, too. The video for this one was 🔥🔥! RIP videos on MTV. (edited) 1y
Megabooks @squirrelbrain it was in a very imaginative way!! 1y
BarbaraBB Those were the days, when MTV showed actual video‘s! 1y
Cinfhen This book sounds 🍌👖!!!! And what a fun tune! Is MTV still around even??? I really miss the good ole days of videos!!! Wow - nostalgia 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen it was and the audio narration was PERFECT!! MTV is still around, but it‘s all reality shows now. Teen Mom reboot, Jersey Shore reboot, Catfish, etc. 1y
Cinfhen I actually really liked all those reality shows but I feel like we don‘t need reboots! Like Dire Straits…I want my MTV 1y
Cinfhen Cutting Teeth is on Scribd!!! Maybe I‘ll pick it up 🩵 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I do watch the Jersey Shore reboot, but I‘m getting a bit tired of it after 6 seasons of 25+ episodes. One major arc was that Sammi didn‘t do the reboot, but she‘s back for season six, but I‘m not impressed. I can always find a reality show to binge when I need something brainless. Steph and I are both watching a good season of 90Day Fiancé, which we both like, and discussing it in our DMs on Insta! ?? 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen really interested to see what you think. I think you‘ll enjoy the narration at least!! 1y
Cinfhen Haha 😂 I love that you and Steph discuss on Insta - I know she‘s still obsessed with Sister Wives! I used to love Teen Moms - I bet those babies are now having babies😱 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I‘ll catch up TM when it comes to Paramount+ Amber‘s still a hot mess! I still love Catelynn and Tyler. They have three more girls now that they‘ve kept. The original TM kids are 14 and the TM2 kids are 13. Enough people left the show that the reboot has new people plus old ones from both casts. Chelsea has a show on HGTV that I watched one episode of. It was okay. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like that network has two ideas it recycles over & over. 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I haven‘t watched the reboot since I can‘t get it on P+. It‘s called TM: Next Chapter. (edited) 1y
Cinfhen Sooooo crazy!! Are they still together Catelynn & Tyler?? Oy, poor Amber - she was such a hot mess - the worse was Farrah oh and what about Jenelle?? The scary thing - these girls are all about Niki‘s age🤯 1y
Megabooks @Cinfhen yes, C&T still together. Farrah left a long time ago. She‘s ridiculous. Jenelle‘s story is sad. She‘s in an obviously abusive marriage. They would play 911 calls she made her last season. 😭😭 Her husband shot her dog 😱😱😭😭 and wasn‘t allowed to film. She left shortly after that. 1y
Cinfhen Wow! Im so NOT surprised but what a disaster regarding Jenelle- so sad 😭 1y

Book 160📚 3.5⭐️

It wasn‘t quite up to “Baby Teeth” for me but was still hella interesting!

I‘ve been dealing with a similar problem, with little baby piranha teeth back there😂🦷

Is it paediatric Renfield Syndrome? Or something much more sinister?🩸

Tamra I recognize that look! 😆 1y

Another great premise for a book, with the added deliciousness of a horror element! What would you do if your child and/or the other children in their preschool class developed a taste for blood? Well, if you‘re anything like the mothers in this book you‘ll protect them, lie for them, and even indulge them with the hope that this too shall pass. I loved how the author also introduced the very relatable themes of possibly losing one‘s identity ⬇️

candc320 Cont‘d: sexuality, and even purpose when you become “mom”, that often most loved and least recognized person. I will say it felt like the middle dragged a little bit but the unique combination of humor and horror kept me reading and the slightly shocking ending was pretty killer 😜. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 1y

So fun! I loved this one! 🖤🧛🏼

At the Little Academy, mothers fret over their preschoolers, who have developed an unsettling medical syndrome. The children‘s odd craving for blood is considered relatively benign (to everyone except their beleaguered moms) until a young teacher is found dead and the only potential witnesses are ten adorable 4-year-olds.
