The Blonde Identity
The Blonde Identity: A Novel | Ally Carter

"A unique, delightful, hilarious, unputdownable romance... I'm wonderstruck by The Blonde Identity!" -- Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis The New York Times bestselling YA author of the beloved Gallagher Girls series bursts onto the adult scene with a fast-paced, hilarious road trip rom-com about a woman with amnesia who discovers she's the identical twin sister of a rogue spy... and must team up with a rugged, grumpy operative to stay alive. It's the middle of the night in the middle of Paris and a woman just woke up with no memory. She only knows three things for certain: 1. She has a splitting headache. 2. The hottest guy she has (probably) ever seen is standing over her, telling her to run. And oh yeah... 3. People keep trying to kill her. She doesn't know who. Or why. But when she sees footage of herself fighting off a dozen men there's only one explanation: obviously. . . she's a spy! Except, according to Mr. Hot Guy, she's not. She's a spy's identical twin sister. Too bad the only person who knows she's not the woman they're looking for is this very grouchy, very sexy, very secret agent who (reluctantly) agrees to help her disappear. Which is easier said than done when a criminal organization wants you dead and every intelligence service in the world wants you caught. Luckily, no one is looking for a pair of lovesick newlyweds on their honeymoon. And soon they're lying their way across Europe--dodging bullets and faking kisses as they race to unravel a deadly conspiracy and clear her sister's name. But with every secret they uncover, the truth shifts, until she no longer knows who to trust: the twin she can't remember or the mysterious man she can't let herself forget... "Spies! Amnesia! And banter that'll make you chant "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" No one writes an action rom-com quite like Ally Carter." - Rachel Hawkins, New York Times bestselling author of The Wife Upstairs

This was a fun spy story featuring a woman with amnesia. It starts really well and a some fun twists. It reminded me of the Findlay Donovan books. The audiobook was narrated well too.

Just as sexy and funny and thrilling and perfect on a #reread. I need more people to care about their romcoms as much as Ally Carter does, thanks. #contemporaryromance #romcom #actionromance

Fun spy caper!
Tongue- in- cheek humor, amnesia, & espionage. The male narrator has a Maltese Falcon, Film noir vibe. The author mostly writes younger children and young adult novels, but I‘ll be watching for more adult fiction from her.

I did some #audiobaking today while listening to this absolutely hysterical charmer in which it turns out the "wrong" twin is very good at Undercovering AND Coverting. ?

(Apple crisp and chocolate ganache with coconut crust ????)

Oh, this HIT. Thank God Ally brought her perfect blend of romance and superspy action to adult romcoms. I had to stop and send extracts to my friends like every two pages because I was giggling too hard. #romcom #actionromance #stillwanttobeagallaghergirl

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

“The Spy Who Dumped Me” meets “Legally Blonde” in this completely delightful action rom-com (and it would similarly make such a great movie)! I think this book would be a surefire way to get out of a reading slump because it is so fast-paced and fun. I kept smiling while reading - it‘s the kind of book that takes you on an adventure and just makes you happy! #AuthenticBooks

Definitely “Legally Blonde” meets “Bourne Identity!” A silly, quick read full of fluff and a dash of romance. Enjoyable enough for what it is, but it‘s a low pick for me.

Author autographs are quite appropriate in a bookstore bathroom.

I think my funny bone is broken. I found this #RomCom not very funny.

A blonde woman lies in the streets of Paris, she doesn't remember who she is. A group of Russian mobsters is behind her because she's stolen a MacGuffin and the most gorgeous man in the world just told her to run.

Is she a spy? That's what the TV news say. But why can't she fell a goon when she's in a pickle? Does her muscle memory have amnesia too?

⬇️

julesG "Her" has to find herself and "Him" is helping, or is he using her to get to the MacGuffin?

Several spy and action films are mentioned throughout the book and the book reads like an action film. I found it difficult to connect with the two MCs, but on the whole the story was entertaining. The epilogue might hint at a sequel.

At first I was baffled by this romantic adventure story. It is so earnestly goofy. But ultimately this is a good thing; it is fresh and fast-paced and different than everything else I have been reading lately. A welcome surprise.

If you‘ve read any of Carter‘s YA novels, you‘ll sure to love this. Our MC wakes up on the street w/amnesia &people trying to kill her as they think she‘s her spy twin. Enter a man who insists he knows her sister. From there begins a game of cat &mouse with hijinks, silly moments, &of course, some romance. There‘s even a twist or two. They try to get her memory back &solve the mystery before it‘s 2 late while falling for each other in the process.
