The latest novel in the New York Times bestselling Book Retreat mystery series, featuring Virginia resort manager and sleuth Jane Steward. Jane and her fianc, Edwin, are headed to the North Carolina coast for a much-needed vacation. Their harborside loft has floor-to-ceiling bookcases and breathtaking views, but Janes hopes of exploring the town with her man are stymied when Edwin steps on a stingray. Things take an even less romantic turn when Jane stumbles across a dead body . . . Instead of taking leisurely beach strolls, Jane is suddenly on a literary chase through time, unearthing a dark secret in her family tree that threatens all she holds dear back in Storyton. And itll take a whole village to help her make amends for the pastand stop a madman bent on exacting justice in the present. Readers will find themselves wanting to live in Storyton, no matter how many people end up dead there. Suspense Magazine on Murder in the Locked Library

Mid dec I messaged the Ellery Adams fb page to say how beautifully written the female offender Samantha was, and how much that meant to me working in the system with women. I don‘t post publicly for obvious reasons.

Today I got this response and cried. If you‘re not a cop, judge, or attorney most of the rest of us in the system remain unseen, despite having the day in/day out contact with folks. Today we were seen and so were our women ❤️

JenReadsAlot Yes! Love it! 3mo

ElizaMarie I love this! I am so glad you reached out to her. I feel like people don't hear praise as much as they deserve. You do amazing work! I tried the correction facility, and I couldn't keep it up. I know for me it had to do with my colleagues' attitudes toward our incarcerated individuals and how hopeless I felt trying to render care. It wasn't good for my mental health. 3mo
BethM @ElizaMarie I totally get that, take care of you! These fields interfere with your mental health on the best of days. 3mo
peaKnit Very special, we don‘t often hear good things, thanks for sharing. I‘m in the registry now and absolutely love this different role with offenders/ people. ❤️ I‘m trying figure out to work with this population after retirement 🤔 3mo

Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView
1- reading goals stress me out. I try to keep the goal that I give myself 20 mins a day with a physical book/ebook that‘s mine and not my son‘s.
2-tagged
3- I just really want to focus on working through my physical and digital shelves

This was such a great installment. I hope it‘s not the last, but if it is I‘ll be satisfied. The killer even caught me by surprise. Probably one of the best of the series.

To my delight this Cozy Mystery too took place around Halloween. Jenna runs Shelton house, a hotel that is also a giant library. She and her fiancé head to Admiral House for vacation and are embroiled in 2 murder mysteries. Too quickly they must head home, but they fear the murders may follow them. Loveable characters and descriptions that help you see settings.

This series is one of my favorite cozy series and the way this one was written made it seems like it was its finale… and what a lovely way to end! Murder, mystery, intrigue and romance… absolute perfection!

BethM I sure hope it‘s not the last but im@happy with the way it ended if it is! Man this was one of the best of the series. Makes me less annoyed about how much I dislike (and can‘t finish) Paper Cuts. 4mo

Murder in the Book Lover's Loft is book #9 in the Book Retreat Mysteries series. Does cozy mystery series is all about everything? Literary including Storyton the hall, a Ritzy Resort Retreat for book lovers, authors, and...murders! Not to mention a collection of priceless books hidden away in a secret room. For once, the murders do not take place at story 10 hall. But, you can be assured that Jane and her fiance Edwin(cont in comments)...

TheHeartlandBookFairy are still very much involved. Written with an intricacy that's often missing in a cozy mystery, this book will keep you guessing and keep surprising you till the end. And speaking of the ending… could this be the end of this series? It seems to wrap up and close out a lot of details. Perhaps a new spin-off series is coming? If you love all things literary, then this is the book, the series for you📚💕 9mo

One of my favourite series and this might be my favourite one in this series. The mystery was just so much fun, the way they methodically worked to solve it was great, plenty of red herrings, and a bit of romance thrown in! If this is the end of the series, what a lovely way to go.

BethM I agree so much! 4mo
