I like Soul of an Octopus better than this because the most charming part of Sy‘s books are her anecdotes about her times with the animals. This was more speaking of other folks encounters and while interesting it didn‘t work quite as well for me. That said, there are beautiful photos and plenty of science in here, and if you‘re a cephalopod fan you‘ll probably love it. 🐙

Reading about my favorite marine animal, the octopus, in “Secrets of the Octopus“ by Sy Montgomery! I love Sy and have read several of her books, with more on my TBR list! This book also introduced me to @octonation , who I am now happily following on Instagram. 💗🐙

Jumping back to a nature book. Have to read this because just love these creatures. Written as a companion to the National Geographic series. Also her other book The Soul of an Octopus was amazing. Go give this a read.
