More epicurean delights than crime fiction
The light-hearted series led me to the world of wine and the Provençal paradise for gourmands

#BiblioMAYnia Wine on Cover 😋🍷 😍

I enjoyed reading this mystery about missing vintage wine. I was actually a little bit familiar with some of the wines from having read In Vino Duplicitas, about Rudy Kurniawan and the biggest con in wine history. #ReadingThroughTheYears192021 #2009

I didn't let the TBR Jar pick my next read this time- I wanted to read this for #LitsyAtoZ #V and because I'm in the mood for a good mystery. Another mystery: how do they make peanut butter & jelly coffee taste so good?! ☕ #coffeeandabook

MicheleinPhilly My friend once made me try PB&J chicken wings and it was like 😖🤔😏🙂. Very sneaky. 5y

This mightn't have been among Mayle's best; but I still found it fun. He's good at writing food, wine, levels of attraction (without being either precious or bawdy), and intrigue. I'll keep reading the series, as well as rereading some of his work from which I've been away a long time.

#TBRtemptation post 1! This is the first installment in the Sam Levitt series. Set in Hollywood, Bordeaux, Paris, and Marseille...you know, all places you have no desire to visit. Entertainment lawyer Danny Roth finds himself the victim of a wine heist of his peerless wine collection. Enter Sam, cultivated crime expert and wine connoisseur, and his erudite French colleague. You'll learn a lot about wine in the process. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Mehso-so

Not my favorite Peter Mayle novel. With that said, it is a quick read. Perfect for a car or plane ride. Weak plot, but the likeable characters make up for it. Worth the read if you need a little dose of Provence.

LauraBrook He's one of my comfort authors. I've only read the first one in this series, and I'm saving this and the 2nd one for when I'm in a book slump or need a little cheering up. 7y
