A re-read of this incredible book, taking my time with this
It's been about 10 years, but I have never stopped thinking about this book. Taking another journey into the horror of 'House of Leaves' and loving every minute of it.
See you on the other side.
I call BS on this claim. No one could read this in one sitting. 😆 That said, once I gotten past the first hundred pages and parts of the Appended materials, I was really looking forward to picking it back up and discovering what would happen next. I loved the innovative layout and all the crazy meta aspects to the story. I‘m also a tiny bit worried about the author‘s mental health. 😅

I just found the author‘s sister inserted into the book. 😂

The book! I haz it, at last! 😁
I shall do my best to catch up so I can join the #HouseofLeaves discussion, but halfway by the 14th might be a bit ambitious. 😬
Funny story: At the library checkout the computer system claimed the book didn‘t exist. It took the staff three attempts to create an entry for it. I told them this seemed in line with the theme of the book. 😂
3/3 - Last of the 3 books I‘m sharing that are books to own in print. House of Leaves. I think the photos of this intriguing book speak for themselves. I mean, look at the pages. Just look at them! ❤️ #bookstoowninprint
Day 10- Favourite book quote I have lots but as this is the best book I have and will ever read I picked this. #booksandshelfiesM18 @Amabear
Congratulations @DGRachel on your Litsy milestone! 🎉🎊🎉🎊
Thank you for hosting this #sharethelitsylove #giveaway! 😃
I‘ve recommended House of Leaves to all my close friends because it‘s a book unlike any I‘ve read before and it has really stuck with me.
The House of Leaves Book Club on Facebook is a go! 😃 The group will be reading through it starting February 26 and continuing through May 31. If anyone is interested in joining in, here‘s a link to the group:

My #FirstReadOfTheYear was a reread of House of Leaves which also ended up being the first of many Danielewski rereads this year, and the first of many rereads in general since about half of the books I read this year were rereads.

Of course the first thing I thought of was House of Leaves. ❤️🖤❤️🖤...💙

Getting in some early morning reading with another of the October themed books
I loved this book. The weird way you have to read it turning the pages around and upside down. I love the story of house. I found some aspects of the commentary hard going. I wonder if this was a standard novel however, it it would be so gripping. This is an unusual book which makes it brilliant and well worth a read. #maybookflowers #review ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
So many things about this book are #impossible. Impossible hallways, impossible stairways an impossible structure. Impossible to understand how someone can write something so intricate. I found it #impossible to put down. #lyricalapril @Cinfhen
This is next on the pile, but I'm waiting to start it until the sun is back up, because I'd like to be able to sleep.
Well I'm afraid that I just couldn't do it. I gave it a try but it just didn't hold my interest.
A few pages in and this book isn't grabbing me. I'm going to keep reading and see how it goes but I'm not a fan of the "It gets better later in the book" concept. If a book doesn't grab me within the first 50 pages, I'll dnf it. It probably seems a bit harsh but I've got a bunch of other books to read so I don't like to waste my time on something that doesn't keep me enthralled.
What's your philosophy on finishing books?
