I cannot tell you all how special a book this is. It's for children. It's for middle grades. And it's for adults. Depending upon which way you read it; there are at least three or four ways to read it. #joy #fear #loss #love #HouseofLeaves #HoL #OR #OnlyRevolutions #T50YS #TF #TheFamiliar #MZD #MarkZDanielewski #BeaHymnforGood

Hey #HOL readers! Final Book Discussion will be tomorrow!

I had a hard time with this book and failed for this buddy read but my wonderful co-host crushed it and finished it! She will be posting the discussion on her page!

Robothugs Failed this one too. 🙊 Maybe next year... 1y
Leniverse I‘m almost done. Will finish it tomorrow for sure! 😃 1y

That-Bookish-Hiker I got to chapter 2 and then never picked it back up. 🤦🏽‍♀️ maybe I‘ll try again another time. 1y
AmyG I‘m finished. 1y
Bklover Ummmm...maybe next year?! 1y
Redwritinghood @Bklover Or not at all! I barely made a dent in it. Seemed a little juvenile to me. 1y
kyraleseberg I didn't intentionally bail ...I just didn't pick it back up after chapter 4 🙈 I couldn't get in to it with all the footnotes and random information 😔 1y
MinDea @kyraleseberg Same! I didn't mean to bail ... I just couldn't bring myself ot pick it back up. Waaaaaaay too many things going on and it made me feel tired just thinking about it. 😆😆😆 1y
mcipher It was such a tough book for me, too. I just powered through it anyway - I feel like I barely paid attention to the second half because I was too focused on finishing it. 😬 1y
AnansiGirl Oh goodness it‘s been sloooow progress 🐌 but I made it to chapter X. Even if I don‘t meet the deadline I‘m toughing it out until I finish. 1y
Tianarose @kyraleseberg I felt the same way when I first read this. I eventually stopped reading a lot of The footnotes. I did read ones that were directly relevant. 1y

Today was hard. Some days are like that. But hubby took me to my happy place and bought me a present. He‘s the best. #HusbandsOfLitsy

If one reads too quickly or too slowly, one understands nothing.

The House of Leaves Book Club on Facebook is a go! 😃 The group will be reading through it starting February 26 and continuing through May 31. If anyone is interested in joining in, here‘s a link to the group:

#HouseOfLeaves #HoL #bookclub

EstelaV They don't say how it will work. Chapter by chapter? R3ad at your own pace? How does the group not accidently give away spoilers. Are there times were tuning in to group discuss? THERES NO ORDER! 2y
Heideschrampf Maybe i'll ne brave enough to finish this time.... 2y
shadowspeak17 @EstelaV Girl, chill! 🤦🏽‍♀️ If they do it like they did with The Familiar, there will be a schedule that will be like Ch. 1-4 Feb. 26-March 4, or something like that. People will mark their posts with the section they‘re posting about and will post whenever they want during that time period. You can join in the discussion whenever you‘ve read the part being posted about. If they read ahead, they‘ll mark it with a spoiler tag at the beginning. 2y

shadowspeak17 @EstelaV There are Q&As with MZD at the end of each month, but I think those are the only discussions with times. 2y
melyndarae Omg I read the description and it gave me chills. I totally want to read this. Lol. 2y
2BR02B I just read this for my book club. Or tried to, anyway... 😅 2y
shadowspeak17 @melyndarae You totally should! It‘s really good! 😃 2y
melyndarae We'll see. Lol. 2y
shadowspeak17 @Heideschrampf @2BR02B It can be a bit hard to get through at times. It took me a ridiculously long time to get through it the first time I read it, and when I finished, I wasn‘t sure what I thought about it. I loved some parts and hated others. It really stuck with me though in a way a lot of other books don‘t, and when I finally read it again last year I thought it was great. I hope you guys can finish it. I think it‘s definitely worth it. 😄 2y
