Whoa. This was so good!!! Disturbing at the end for sure, but such a great read. A dystopian, post-apocalyptic world terrorized by angels. I should not of put off reading this. It's been one of my kindle unlimited books that that I've marked to read for a long time and kept passing over. I don't recommend the audio version. I switched over to try it out, and immediately switched back to reading.
A quick one day fast-paced read! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
First, I‘d like to thank Goodreads for gifting this book to me. Although it wasn‘t my genre of choice, it wasn‘t bad. It was definitely written for the younger generation, with most of the characters begin teenagers. It dealt with angels, demons, protectors, etc. There were a lot of fight scenes, which also isn‘t necessarily my thing. This book is part one of a series that I most likely won‘t continue.
4✨ This book was about those that either had someone pass on who came back to comfort them, or those who passed the veil for a brief time. Those that came back provide encouragement that there is something else after this life. As a person of faith this brings me comfort that this life isn‘t the end. That those we love and miss who have left us are still out there waiting for our time. I wish this was actually written in the POV of the witnesses.
What a wonderful book! It‘s like Good Omens meets The Golem and the Jinni, plus labor organizing and gangs… and a whole bunch of queerness. I have a feeling it‘s going to be very difficult to pick a favorite book of my March reads!
Library pick of the day from one of my scholars. I love everything about library day to include photographing every book that I see.
Celebrated St.Patty‘s Day with an Irish themed coffee flight!! 🍀🍀🍀
