1. The Ardennes forest.
2. Tagged - fun fact, Stephen Ambrose grew up in Whitewater and graduated from the Highschool my parents (and all of my aunts, uncles and cousins) later attended and an aunt now teacher in the building which is now a middle school.

Here‘s my review for this book I DNF‘d. I‘m counting this book for #bookspinbingo. I‘m glad I got it off of my list.

I finally started this book while I finished coloring a picture on my iPad. So far, it‘s interesting. I like the narrator‘s voice but I felt like it was too slow so I sped it up from 1.00x to 1.25x and it‘s better. I don‘t feel like I‘m going to fall asleep listening to the narrator now but I don‘t feel like I‘m invested in the story yet.

Princess-Kingofkings I usually listen at 1.25. The last audiobook I started at 1 and thought oh no, this will not work! 3mo

I decided that I‘m going to read this book from my #bookspinbingo list next. I haven‘t started reading it yet. I need to start it soon though because the longest amount of time I have to read this book from Libby is 14 days. I need to find out if I‘m going to like this book or not. That way if I don‘t like it, I can DNF it and move on to something else. I wanted to start it last night but it was too late.

This was one of the first things I saw when I went to the New York Times app this morning. How terribly sad. There are only 48 D-Day survivors left, the youngest one being 98 years old.🥺

Pickpick

13 yo Trevor, his dad, and his great granddad Jacob travel to France ?? to revisit the sites where his G G fought in WW II. Jacob will attend a banquet to receive a medal for liberating the village of Saint-Régine; but there‘s a twist: some folks threaten his life bc they don‘t want him there…

Daisey I pretty much auto buy new Korman books for my class library, but I‘ve yet to read this one. After this review, I may need to move it up the TBR list. 4mo

Read this one over a week ago and forgot to post about it.
I was surprised by how intense the story was. I figured it the subject matter would have been toned down a ton for younger readers, but we still ended up getting the serious weight of that battle. It was a great book.
