My #CosmereBuddyRead peeps- I am literally screaming!!!! I had 7 hours on a round trip train ride for a quick DC trip so I accidentally finished this. Screaming. Just Wow. Pro tip- don‘t start part 5 until you are ready to read it in one sitting. I couldn‘t stop. I have sooo many thoughts and cannot wait for the ending discussion. I ❤️ Kaladin. That‘s it. It gets all the stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m posting this tonight, because I‘m going to be really busy for the next couple of days and I didn‘t want to forget. Was that not an amazing first part?! I was happy and sad and anxious. So many surprises! I can‘t wait to see where Sanderson takes us next.

Leniverse I'm having the opposite problem to book one - I read this part in two days and didn't want to stop! Fortunately those two days were Sunday and Monday, so I didn't have to stop for long 😂 Looking forward to going back in this afternoon 5d

Meshell1313 Agreed! I love that it picked up right where we left off and that I couldn‘t put it down. I still have many questions about the spreen and how they come to be but I‘m ready for our story lines to converge!!! 4d

Leniverse @Meshell1313 Yes! I am looking forward to Shallan getting there. Will she get along with Adolin? Will Pattern and Syl get in a fight, since there's apparently some animosity between those two types? Will Kaladin confront Amaram, and if so who will Dalinar side with? Will Amaram's appearance lead to Kaladin deciding not to reveal his abilities to Dalinar? Hoping for answers in the next episode of Soap 😂 4d

rabbitprincess Just finished Part 1 and am both pleased and upset that there was a classic Sanderson « holy shit! » moment in this part. Pleased because he does these moments well, upset because Jasnah was killed ? Proud if Shallan for managing on her own. I liked the interlude as well because we finally get to see some of the Parshendi/listener culture. 3d

Leniverse @rabbitprincess Yes, the Parshendi/Listener interlude was interesting. Now if we can only get an Interlude from that Herald who turned up at the end of the previous book some things might start to make sense! ? As for the "holy shit" moment I'm not sure whether to be relieved to get it out of the way or nervous about who he will kill off at the end of this book ? 3d

Probably a 3.75/5 overall because I am out of practice reading big chunky books in general and haven‘t read much epic fantasy specifically. Took me longer to get into than the Mistborn series, but I still enjoyed it a lot (and am already reading the next book in the series).

A solid installment, though it definitely feels like a middle book and a little long/repetitive at times. It is still great to be back with these characters, though I am very concerned about their well being at the end of this book. 4⭐️

Leniverse I have to say I'm glad we didn't start with this series. I would have likely bailed on The Way of Kings after two or three hundred pages and never picked up another Sanderson book again 😬 But as it is, I am eager to continue the series. 2w

Today‘s #audiobaking on my mother‘s behalf involved banana cupcakes and the ganache to fill ‘em with. I did them gluten free this time because my aunt‘s coming to visit and she was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. Hopefully they turned out well. I‘ll find out when they cool off.
