So, even though I‘m going through a bit of a reading slump, I managed to do this! 📚 Kind of feeling a bit proud of myself 🥰

Thanks for all the support & encouragement to all these great challenges & their great hosts! Thank you to all you wonderful Littens as well, I couldn‘t have done it alone:

Final Totals for the week long #MarchUnshelfingReadathon

Target

Read 5 books - Finished 6 books

Read 2100 pages - Finished 2155 pages

Thanks for hosting this Readathon @Clwojick 👍👏😊

#BookReport @Cinfhen

DieAReader Way to go! Congrats on surpassing target! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 4y
Clwojick Amazing!!!! Congratulations! 🥳🥳🥳 Are you going to continue on throughout the rest of the month and try to chip away at your personal unread collection? 4y
Andrew65 @SquidgetsRoom Thanks, it was touch and go on the pages total. 😊 4y

Andrew65 @Clwojick Most definitely, I‘m focused on reading books from my shelf alongside other commitments. Thanks 👍😊Usually once I finish books from my shelf I give them away, with the odd exception. Biggest problem is reading too many library books and I need to change that. (edited) 4y
Sills Impressive🙂 4y
Andrew65 @Sills Thanks, a good week. 😊 4y
Clwojick Yeah, I‘m the exact same way. I always pass along or donate a book after I‘ve read it, but lately I‘ve been mostly listening to audiobooks or reading graphics and what not that I find online and ignoring my personal collection. I‘m making a point to correct that, or at least limit the amount of books I‘m bringing into the house, if they‘re not going out at the same speed. 😜 4y
Clwojick Hopefully I can stick with this project all year. I‘ll be happy so long as my monthly outgoing book count is higher than the incoming book count. I failed in January thanks the free book swaps, but I got a little momentum in February which prompted this whole event. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick These days the biggest issues are the books that I bring in from the library and more significantly the books I add to the e-library 😳. Rarely buying new physical books and not adding many second hand physical books. I do need to, however, get to more books from my physical shelfs. 4y
Clwojick I can‘t even think about my ebooks. I have over 1,000 thanks to NetGalley, Apple Books and amazons freebies. It got so out of control when my husband bought me an iPad. 😂 I was thinking of devoting a month and challenging myself to chip away at that collection, but it‘s a little daunting. 😅 4y
GHABI4ROSES YAYYYY you CRUSHED IT, @andrew65 and YES, thank you, @Clwojick ❣️ 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick I‘m in the same place and keep adding free or bargain books. 😳 4y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES Thanks for your support and encouragement 😊👍 (edited) 4y

Pickpick

First #Authoramonth book for March. My first ever Murakami and I have to say this was an overall very enjoyable read, with a believable story of a man who was kicked out of a friendship group from school and goes on a personal journey to find out why many years later. You can feel the emotions coming off the page and it is very well written and very readable. Two minor points it didn‘t need the occasional references to sex and erotic dreams 👇

Andrew65 👆 Also disappointed by the very ending and not knowing what happened with Sara. #ReadingEurope2020 @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB #Finland (edited) 4y
Andrew65 Brings me up to 2112/2100 target of pages read for #MarchUnshelfingReadathon. @Clwojick @Geenie @SquidgetsRoom @GHABI4ROSES #MarchUnshelfing (edited) 4y
BookishMe I recently read somewhere that Murakami is obsessed with erotica and it's a common motif in his writing 🤔🤔 4y

Clwojick Yeah! I knew you‘d crush your goal! 🔥🔥🔥🥳🥳🥳 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick Thanks and for your belief. Still going and got 16 minutes before midnight. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @BookishMe That‘s a shame because it isn‘t needed. 😔 4y
Eggs I read this book too; agree w your feelings of erotica and sexually hostile dreams...no thanks. But apparently it‘s in several other of his novels-its just where his mind goes happily down a trail to use sex instead of real communication @Andrew65 4y
Cathythoughts I really enjoyed the 2 books of his I read. I agree ... no thanks to erotica... but when I think back on the books it‘s not what I remember at all ... still it will put me off reading him again too soon ... (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @Eggs @Cathythoughts Totally agree, not needed and does put you off. 4y
Soubhiville Logged, I‘ve got you at 7📚 4y
Andrew65 @Soubhiville Thanks, that‘s correct. Lagging well behind the leaders. 😳 4y

Starting my first book for #Authoramonth, which for March is Haruki Murakami. This will be the first book of his I have read. Was thinking of reading IQ84 but at 1328 pages seemed such a big undertaking when I didn‘t know if I liked his writing.

Also using this to continue the #MarchUnshelfingReadathon #MarchUnshelfing Need just over 300 pages more today to hit my target of 2100 pages during the week.

aquariusnat Never read him either. But he's on my TBR author list too . Let us know if you liked it ! 4y
AmyG I‘m reading this one, too. So far, so good. But I am thinking I may have already read it...it seems very familiar! 😳🤣 4y
GHABI4ROSES This is included in your unshelving? Double duty? Or extra credit? 4y
See All 19 Comments
Andrew65 @aquariusnat Will do. Quite different but enjoying it so far. 4y
Andrew65 @AmyG That‘s always the problem! 4y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES Included in the Readathon but as ebook can‘t be included in the unshelfing. (edited) 4y
EadieB @Andrew65 I read IQ84. My husband was in an accident on the way to church. He was broadsided as another car went thru stop sign. He was just a little lightheaded and is in St Luke's Q-Town having tests done but he is totally fine. I‘m in the emergency room with him now and they are running all kinds of tests. (edited) 4y
Clwojick What is authoramonth? Is the whole year preplanned? 4y
Andrew65 @EadieB Oh no! Hopefully will be nothing more serious than shock and damage to the car. Sending all my best positive thoughts. 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick It‘s run brilliantly by @Soubhiville and where a different author is chosen each month and we read and post reviews of books we have read by that author during that month. This is the posting showing which author is being read in each month. Susanita's post on Litsy https://litsy.com/p/bXZlYUMyYm5t (edited) 4y
EadieB @Andrew65 Thanks! He is doing fine as he is just worried about his car. Thank goodness for a strong Cadillac and airbags. 4y
Andrew65 @EadieB Most definitely, thankfully that is what insurance is for too. Cars can be replaced, people can‘t! Send him my best wishes. Last week I was at traffic lights for roadworks and a car reversed into me coming out of a side street on the opposite side of the road! By the time I got out of the car they had shot off around a corner, didn‘t even have time to get a registration number! 4y
EadieB @Andrew65 Nasty people who take off after hitting someone! Finally home and all he has is a concussion. Thank goodness! 4y
Andrew65 @EadieB That‘s good to hear. 😊 4y
Clwojick Thanks! 4y
TheAromaofBooks I have had 1Q84 on my TBR for quite some time, so even though it's ridiculously long, I think I am going to at least test it out this month. I'm a bit scared, though!! 😬 4y
Andrew65 @TheAromaofBooks I am still thinking I might try it as have enjoyed this one. 4y
TheAromaofBooks I've only read the first dozen or so pages but it's honestly quite intriguing. So I'll give it a bit of a go and see how I get along with it!! 4y
Andrew65 @TheAromaofBooks Good luck 🤞 4y

Continuing #Marchunshelfingreadathon with this Ken Follett book. One of many books I am behind in reading!

Clwojick You always have the best mix of books in these readathons! 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick I do like to vary my reading. 4y
GHABI4ROSES Total mix, and this is not a page count helper, huh? 4y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES Not a good page counter but are worse. Saturday is always a struggle with reading due to tiredness from the work week. Tends to be much easier on Sunday. (edited) 4y
GHABI4ROSES Saturday is DEFINITELY a big rest day for me as well; and with your work, it is GO as soon as Monday hits! I have to work today, but I can make up for balance during the week; I so admire people who pull off a traditional schedule! 4y

Andrew65 @robinb Yes this is book 3 of the Josephine Tey Historical Mystery Series. Strange to have a series which has a real author / playwright as the main character. They are very good and very enjoyable. 4y
Andrew65 @SquidgetsRoom @Clwojick Thanks 😊, hope to pick up the pace this weekend. 4y
robinb @Andrew65 Thanks for the info! Sounds interesting...I‘ve stacked the first in series. 😊👍 4y
GHABI4ROSES Okay, @Andrew65 I am going to set my pages for today. 4y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES Good Luck, I‘m currently at 174 pages for today, but it is 5.38 pm here. (edited) 4y

Okay it‘s the weekend 👏👏👏😍 Not got Coronavirus (or at least not that I know of 😳) so time to really kick the Readathon off. Safest place is to be in the house reading clearly!

Going to get the weekend off with a bang by trying to finish off this book, which would be the fourth book finished. Currently 59% through the book. #MarchUnshelfingReadathon #MarchUnshelfing

GHABI4ROSES I am working the CoronaCause for sure this weekend! Happy Friday, and Tale pocked up 200 pages in, lol. 4y

End of Day 4 of the #MarchUnshelfingReadathon and just finished my third book during the Readathon. Although far from enamoured by this book, but may have been the narrators style.

Readathon Targets

Have read 1083 / 2100 pages and am 117 pages off track so far. 🤞 for the weekend.

Read 3/5 books.

GHABI4ROSES But did the horse do it? And WOW ON PAGES READ. 4y

GHABI4ROSES I lamented on a different thread; if I get in 150 pages a day between today and Sunday, I can cross the finish on the WeekAThon goal. AND BE DONE WITH TALE. 4y
Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES That‘s very achievable, will be cheering you on! 🥳😊👍🤞 4y
GHABI4ROSES 🙏🏾📚💪🏾 4y
Clwojick I‘m reading my 15th book of the month the right now, 4 of which were not off of my personal shelves. And so far I‘ve passed along 7 more unread. 🔥 4y

GHABI4ROSES Hopefully all the horses do not die in this book, like at the local racetrack these last months😖 4y
