#Naturalitsy #HyggeHourReadathon

Spending my #HyggeHour with Nancy Drew & the gang for #NancyDrewBR I‘m snacking on Peppermint Pocky & one of my last Hint seasonal Peppermint Bark flavored waters.

Mood is sad tomorrow is Monday & unsure how I am going to make it through a whole week of work. The January blues. 😔

BookishMarginalia I‘m not looking forward to back to work schedule… I need more book time! 4h

#12Booksof2025 November / Book 11 : surprise twist! This was not my highest rated read of the month (that honor goes to the new WWII historical fantasy A Resistance of Witches) but it has stuck with me enough that I am pursuing research at work related to the information I learned about pigeons in WWII from this author. Inspiration should always be celebrated!
Read with the incomparable @AllDebooks and #NaturaLitsy

Loss is the tune of our age, hard to miss and hard to bear.Creatures, places and words disappear, day after day, year on year. But there has always been singing in dark times –and wonder is needed now more than ever.‘To enchant‘ means both to make magic and to sing out.So let these spells ring far and wide;speak their words, and seek their art, let the wild world into your eyes, your voice, your heart. #naturalitsy #wintersolace

This is a book of spells to be spoken aloud. It tells its stories and sings it songs in paint and word. Here you will find incantations and summoning charms, spells that protect and spells the protest,tongue-twisters, blessings, lullabies, and psalms. Here you might swoop with a swallow, follow a seal through the sea or sky-race with swifts. Here you can listen owl ears and watch with the eyes of an oak.#naturalitsy #beautybreak #wintersolace #endpapers

A new year & a new nonfiction challenge! #Nonfiction2026

Last year we read about people wanting a change, and fighting for it….so this year we are going to take a deep breath and remember what people fight for, the good things, the things we do not want to lose, the old friends & new acquaintances of Auld Lang Syne, our passions & loves, escape the grind & news & “touch grass”.

As always, fill these any way you choose that works for you.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Also, please feel free to combine with other challenges like #NaturaLitsy (edited) 2d

ncsufoxes I totally forgot to go back last year & do this one. Definitely one of my favorite challenges since I read a lot of NF. Adding it to my list for this year 2d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ncsufoxes I think last year was hard for many, lots going on in real life 2d
Amiable @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Amen. I let go of a lot of challenges last year and just worked to keep my head above water. I appreciate the new board! 2d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Amiable you are not alone and you are very welcome. We are in for the long haul, but we need to take care of ourselves and keep our spirits up too! Take care of yourself out there in this crazy world. 2d
CatLass007 Thank you! I enjoyed 2024‘s challenge so much that I‘m still reading all the prompts and my answers. Last year, not so much, although I‘m still plugging away. I‘m looking forward to 2026! 2d
rockpools This is really lovely. It‘s so easy to get bogged down in the heavy stuff. I need this sort of challenge this year - thank you 🌼 2d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @rockpools me too, I think we all need this this year. 1d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @CatLass007 I‘m still plugging away at last years too. Maybe I‘ll finish that one eventually 😂. The thought was good, but although I anticipated their throw everything at the wall & see what sticks, I did not fully anticipate the level of shock & awe and throw everything at us so we could not concentrate on any 1 thing for 2 whole seconds level of chaos. Just keeping up with the daily news was a job in itself, my reading of anything not news ⤵️ 1d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ related dropped significantly last year. 1d
CatLass007 My reading of the news dropped significantly last year. A couple of months into the year, I forced myself to look at my newsfeed only once per day. . 1d
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @dabbe Thank you, that is a great list! 15h

My 106 books included some great reads, but I only chose a few to highlight. I reread The Tale of Genji on audio (72 hours) and finished a multi-year read of all the Sherlock Holmes stories (71 hours). Kristin Lavransdatter was my longest print read and an amazing story. I included Heartstone on this graphic, but really it should be the Shardlake series. Fingersmith & The Colour were fascinating #1001books. A Tree A Day was great nonfiction.

Vansa Did you compile these statistics yourself?! Really nice 2d
Daisey @Vansa Yes, I use Goodreads and also a spreadsheet to tally these stats as well as a few other things for each book. 2d
