pickCute story and graphics. Nenek's grandmother is coming to visit and it's her first time meeting her. She tries Sambal for the first time and it's too spicy for her. She needs to find the right dish that won't burn her when she eats it. The cat is my favorite in this book. Also now I know what Sambal dish to try since I can't eat spicy foods like Nenek.
pickThis is a hug of a book. I find the author (of Salt Fat Acid Heat fame) completely charming and loved her stories and approach to cooking and enjoying eating with loved ones. I have the physical book, which is beautiful, and have made a few things from it, but also listened to her narrate the non-recipe parts on audio and enjoyed it. Great food/eating/cooking book!
Last week was a week full of emotions. My 10 year old daughter has been dealing with stomach pain & nausea for the last 2 years. Initially it was thought that it was celiac, but the tests came back negative. An ultrasound of her abdominal area was also negative. The GI dr we saw in Boston chalked it up to anxiety.
