Just came across the #MtCookbook tag and decided that it‘s about time for me to give my cookbook shelves some attention. I think my goal will be to decide to either #readordonate ten cookbooks by the end of the year. Most of these have been fun to collect, but I‘ve only used a handful of recipes in them, as I look online a lot for the recipes I use. These aren‘t all my cookbooks, but this is the bulk of them. Since I need to start eating ⬇️

slategreyskies (Cont.) more healthy meals (low sodium, gluten free and anti-inflammatory), some of these cookbooks may no longer work for me. Looking forward to going through them and finding the ones that do, though! 3w

I love Molly Katzen‘s cookbooks full of her illustrations & recipes. (She was with the Moosewood Collective if she or her style looks familiar). This one has today‘s prompt #Cafe in the title. 💛🍽️

Lynnsoprano I never heard of this! Of course, growing anything is different here in South Florida, and I haven‘t been able to grow any basil the past few years because a fungus kills it. 3w
Aimeesue @Lynnsoprano Ick, fungus! Florida‘s tough. My mom lives in JAX and she either can‘t get the veggies to grow or they get all eaten up by critters, bugs or slugs. Every year, it seems. 3w

I bought a copy of this book when it came out in 1992-in a bookstore! Without computer assistance!- then purged it at some point among our many military moves. This year‘s herbs springing up made me think of it, so obviously I had to buy another copy. 😄

TBH, I missed the 🔻on the prompt when I looked this morning (in my defense it was the butt crack before dawn & I was at the airport) & I started pulling Love-titled cookbooks so I just went with it! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here‘s a 🔻of 3 cookbooks I own & love. ❤️🔻❤️ About to take off back to Oahu after a looong day in Kona.

I‘ve had this cookbook forever, but rarely make anything out of it besides quiche, so I thought I‘d try something new.
This was. . . an interesting combination of flavors, but despite the name, it‘s not heavily spiced and has zero heat. That‘s America in the ‘80s for you, I guess. The chutney was great. Will definitely make this again, as we‘re trying to eat more vegetarian meals.

Tamra Funny, at one time I had all of Katzen‘s books but rarely used them, so I donated most. I do so love the format & illustrations though! (edited) 3mo
Aimeesue @Tamra I‘ve had this copy for at least 30years, and the quiche is the only recipe I‘ve made regularly. I definitely keep this one and Moosewood due to the hand-lettering and illustrations though 😁 3mo
Ruthiella Not only do you have the same Fisher Price little people, which are still at my parents‘ house even though the grandkids are teenagers, you have the same Corelle dishes! 3mo
Aimeesue @Ruthiella Ha! This is the only piece of the Spring Blossoms design I have; most of mine are the Old Town Blue design. This was mixed in with some I got at the thrift store, but I really liked it, so it stayed! 3mo
KAO I love this cookbook! I have had mine for decades also. I make the zucchini and bell pepper enchiladas recipe at least three or four times every year. This book also taught me how to make a frittata—yum! Another favorite. 3mo
mabell Chutney with it sounds good! But I would definitely like more spice and/or heat in the lentils 😄 3mo

Aimeesue @mabell Yeah, most people are gonna want to add some heat in there. My family has super sensitive tongues (my grandfather was unable to eat even mild chili without his tongue being on fire!) so I let everyone add it afterward if they want to be extra daring 😄 3mo

#mtcookbook - I‘m trying an approach that worked this week- Soup is my favorite food- and i love Paprika and mushrooms but wanted hearty vs a pre meal soup- so I added potato, cabbage, onion, garlic, white beans and kale- It worked!!!! I‘m calling it my Hungarian-Irish Stew. And it was a win with my mom and son too!
