I bought this volume years ago at a comic convention. It lived in my TBR pile until recently when I learned that it was adapted into an anime series. And I think it really cool since it‘s done by a US artist, kickstarted into manga publication, and then made into anime in Japan 👍🏼 So awesome!!

Anyways, it‘s a rom-com set in gaming culture, woman working in STEM, deals with mental health and internet celebrity-ism.

I just reread (relistened?) to this novella and still loved it. Standard Ali Hazelwood territory, with enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes and a great literary/gaming bent. Due out in print early next year!

The book was well written but not well researched. The book takes place in 1982 and mentions things that did not happen until 2010. Also while I know the town is fiction the geographic details are off.

I did not know the story of Tetris was such a legal thriller filled with international intrigue!
