#WordOfTheYear
@IndoorDame

So I posted the word PURPOSE as my #wordoftheyear, and today this quote showed up in my daily Mutts comics email. I think the universe might be trying to tell me something. I've now combined the two and will strive to make happiness my purpose--even in the simplest daily activities. 🖤💙🖤

IndoorDame I had no idea Aristotle had already let us in on the Purpose of Life. Clearly humans don‘t pay attention very well. Love this as your direction for 2024 though! 🧡 11mo
dabbe @IndoorDame Ain't that the truth! Good ol' Aristotle! #whoknew 🖤💙🖤 11mo

My #wordoftheyear is Healing. Healing physically, & healing by giving open attention to my relationships.
This mug is a physical reminder for me:
“may the sun
bring you new energy by day,
may the moon softly restore you by night,
may the rain
wash away your worries,
may the breeze
blow new strength into your being,
may you walk
gently through the world and know
its beauty all the days of your life.
———apache blessing

#WordOfTheYear
@IndoorDame

Thanks for such an incredible idea, Adina! 😘 My #WordOfTheYear is going to be PURPOSE. Now that I have time, what do I want to do with it? How can I better serve others? And before I can even do that, I need to get myself in order. I will use this word to (hopefully) continually guide me every day before I even get out of bed.

Anyone else have a word to share? Be sure to tag @IndoorDame, too! 😍

IndoorDame Love this word!!! It‘s gonna make for a great year 😘 11mo

I loved seeing everyone‘s personal and reading goals yesterday for #TLT! I haven‘t set those sorts of concrete goals for the new year, but I have chosen my word of the year: Align. So I‘ll be trying to focus on whether my actions are bringing me further into alignment with my core self and values or further away from that. Does anyone else pick a #WordOfTheYear?

kspenmoll This is wonderful! We actually have our 9th graders (I co-teach English) chose they were of the year and they painted on a rock which we keep in the classroom all year. They love it. 11mo
IndoorDame @kspenmoll I love that assignment! ♥️ 11mo
kspenmoll I think my word of the year is healing. Healing in body ( shoulder/bicep surgery in Fall) & healing by paying close attention to my relationships. Thanks for your idea!! (edited) 11mo

Despite an epic hangover, I managed to follow through on my resolution to start writing more. I set-up a whole blog and everything! I named it “Impossible Honey” after a line from Chen Chen‘s poem, “Spell to Find Family.”

Let me know if you read my first post, about my Word of the Year for 2023.

(I promise to be more focused on #AuldLangSpine now that this is accomplished!)

MoonWitch94 @monalyisha I love your word! It‘s creative, important, and perfect! I did something similar when I chose Magic as my word of the year. It means so much more than it‘s definition. ✨💙✨ 2y

peanutnine This was lovely. I love your writing style and admire your dedication to starting new things. Good luck 💖 2y
Amiable Fabulous post! I love the careful thought that went into choosing your word. My word for the year is “nourish.” I need to keep reminding myself to seek out opportunities to grow emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually because I‘m fearful of becoming stagnant. 2y
JamieArc Really enjoyed reading it ❤️ 2y
TL_Clanton I read it and loved it! It was so tactile in the best way! Also, I also suffer from exczema and find Clobetasol on the hands twice a day helps as well as a humidifier at night in Winter! Well done! I will keep reading for sure! 2y
monalyisha Thanks for the tip, @TL_Clanton ! 2y
monalyisha @Amiable One year, I started a morning ritual where I‘d meditate and then create a little paper petal with my guiding word for the day written on it. The only one I still have out in plain sight is “nourish.” I‘ll have to find it and snap a photo for you! 2y

The Cure for Sleep | Tanya Shadrick

My #WordOfTheYear for 2023 is “touchdown.” It was inspired by an episode of Katherine May‘s “Wintering” podcast (retitled “How We Live Now”), in which she interviews writer Tanya Shadrick. As a non sports fan, it‘s a curious choice for me…but multiple meanings abound.

I may be starting an online blog in the New Year (as early as tomorrow!). The outline for my first journal entry, which exists in my brain & nowhere else, is about exactly this.

monalyisha @MoonWitch I was happy to see your post. This practice has been on my mind, as well. ✨ 2y
wanderinglynn Fantastic word! 2y

✨MAGIC✨ is my word of the year for 2023.

“Regeneration. Hope. Gratitude” were my words for 2020, 2021, and 2022. These words sustained me, and were essential to my survival & healing. But now, it is time to LIVE and remember the MAGIC in living. So this year, I will make Magic a priority. Making magic, living magically, and seeking out the magic in every day living.

✨What is your #WordoftheYear for #2023 ? #Magic

Enchanted_Bibliophile 😍 Love this! 2y

One Word That Will Change Your Life (Expanded) | Jon Gordon, Dan Britton, Jimmy Page

Every year, I choose one little word as my theme for the year. Rather than focusing on individual resolutions, I just pick a theme for how I would like my life to grow over the coming year. It works for me. Maybe it will work for you. If it doesn‘t, that‘s okay, too. My word for 2019 is

Connect.

For a multitude of reasons, but mostly because we are all in this together. #onelittleword #wordoftheyear

Krisjericho Since 2011, my words have been Renew, Fit, Breathe, Intention, Real, Free, Enough, and Build. 6y
Librarybelle I love this idea! Thank you for sharing. ❤️ 6y
The_Literary_Jedi I never intentionally set a word or thought or plan until last year. I wrote out a focus: the year it comes together. And things really did come together. This year is: the year of growth and balance. I realize my actions are concise & deliberate when I see my focus idea every day in my bullet journal. #powerofwords 6y
llwheeler I did this for the first time this year. My word was Realize. Not sure yet what I'll pick for 2019... 6y
CouronneDhiver Awesome! If I had to pick a word for 2019, I hope it‘s “Celebrate!” 6y
