3✨ The idea of this book was interesting. Set in winter with demons, magic elements, and spirits. I had trouble with the audiobook narrator and staying engaged. It doesn‘t help that I had a lot on my mind with work too. Vasilisa is coming of age where she is expected to marry or be sent to a convent. Her love for horses is throughout the story as well as her desire to find her own path in life. There is loss, danger, and good/evil in this story.⬇️

I had to stop reading this because of all the times it made me cringe. The children in the foster system have a lot on their plates. That pain is very real, and how they deal with it can many times not be in healthy ways. I‘m not saying this is a good or bad book. I‘m just saying I personally can‘t read anymore because of the depressing material within it. This is for #YABuddyReads and #BookSpinBingo in November
