Playing catch-up with #septembowie. I love seeing how people interpret the various prompts. There are so many ways you could go with #youngamericans. I opted for this because the President Nixon line makes me think of the 70s and while I don't know that this book takes place then, it FEELS like it does to me.

It's always a bit frustrating to buy a #hardcover new, only for time to pass, #paperback editions seeing print, even spying like-new copies available for a steal, still never having gotten around to reading it.

The face on the cover remind anyone else of Johnny Cash?

Tom Henderson and Sam Hellerman are #YoungAmericans united throughout school by the bonds of alphabetical order. In order to stay sane in a crazy world they make up band names which are handily compiled in the back of the book.

At just 24, Chabon wasn't much older than the #youngamericans in his outstanding debut.
