Creepy Crayon! | Aaron Reynolds

Jasper Rabbit is behind in school, but then a purple crayon wants to help. It's great until the crayon starts acting weird. It's creepy! The crayon does not want to leave, and he wants to get rid of it as it's taking over everything. #ISpyBingoOct @TheAromaofBooks

If you are interested in this one, you‘re probably already familiar with the author‘s comedy. This is more of the same, and I mean that in the best way possible. It‘s an absolute necessity to listen to it on audio though. The author reads it and I feel like his southern drawl and comedic timing are essential for full enjoyment. It gave me some much-needed belly laughs.

I think that as an adult, I appreciate the reminder of the English language. #ISpyBingoMay Finally a bingo line. @TheAromaofBooks

Uhh. I don't know about this. I will never read Infinite Jest. Or House of Leaves. If there was a question about a mystery in an English village, I missed it. Or, more accurately, for me "a book by an author who wrote one book you loved and two you hated, but maybe this one will be good??" Plot isn't as important to me as mood. I love a book where nothing happens, but the narrator had a lot of Thoughts. Or an English mystery. Or a children's book.

lauraisntwilder And what about short stories? And poetry? 24 is not enough types of books! 9mo
Ruthiella I was purple too, and while I did read Infinite Jest, I wouldn‘t count it as a favorite. I looked at the books provided as samples for all the colors and found favorites in each. I think this is a good way to see what draws your interest , but it won‘t be a true reflection of what you actually read, because there are other influences that make us pick up one book over another. The book, published in 2012, follows a bunny that finds a purple crayon that helps him do his work because he was struggling in school. The bunny ends up feeling bad because he's not actually doing his work, and tries to get rid of the crayon. The words/sentences are descriptive, and the colors are dark besides the crayon. My favorite part is where the bunny takes accountability and starts actually doing his schoolwork.

For today's #PhotoChallenge word #Purple I searched in my photos and found this. I *think* it's the set from when we saw “Matilda“ in London.
