Well look at this! Anyone would think I‘d actually been reading books! Remarkable!

Sabotage… is a middle grade crime thriller, set on a runaway solar-powered train, north of Alice Springs. It turned out to be more thriller than crime (think Speed meets Scooby Doo), but there was a Christie-esque ‘let me tell you who dunnit‘ at the end. Loads of fun, enough train facts to keep any young train fans happy, and really quite page-turnery! Fab!

Oh look. #ChristmasCrimeChallenge gives me an excuse to read another of the MG Leonard books (middle-grade mysteries set on trains around the world - this one in Australia).

And what I‘ve learned so far, apart from the basics of hydrogen fuel cells, is that the moon is smaller in diameter than Australia is in width. Is that really true? And if it is, how did I not know?

“Science, man!”

Apparently.

Fun adventure. Easy read. Very entertaining. Alls well that ends well.

First book on a looong TBR 📖

I haven‘t been doing many individual book reviews lately but it always comes as a surprise to me when I‘m the first to post about a book so I couldn‘t let the opportunity pass me by. All middle graders will enjoy this adventurous series, particularly reluctant male readers who prefer the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, dogs etc. (Of note: abusive stepdad). Adults who enjoy a good road trip or nature read will also enjoy this series.
