“Every few weeks she would shut herself up in her room, put on her scribbling suit, and fall into a vortex, as she expressed it, writing away at her novel with all her heart and soul, for till that was finished she could find no peace.”

“There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.”

Of course there‘s different opinions on good/bad writing, but I like this #bookishscenewithinaclassic (the best I could come up with).

I wonder which book Oscar is holding? Maybe it‘s an edition of this?

Thanks @Sarah83 and @Bambolina_81 for hosting this #Maylovesclassics daily challenge! It‘s been a fun month!

The first illustration in my 1943 edition of Jane Eyre shows her reading in the window seat. Reading that scene when I was a girl has made me want a deep window seat with a curtain to pull across so I could hide from the world and read! #bookishscenewithinaclassic #maylovesclassics @Sarah83
