The Chain | Adrian McKinty
post image

How quickly did I get through all of the book questions? Well, not very quickly but I tried! You can find my new video here: https://youtu.be/ZMArJIub0wQ

#bookquestions #booktube

EadieB @Butterflyamore Enjoyed the video again but I thought you had read The Chain because you tagged it. The questions were interesting. I agree with most of your answers. I'll go thru some of them: I enjoy physical books more than ebooks. I prefer hardback too but I do like the trade books for the same reason you do. I prefer thrift shopping or library sales for my books. I do buy some online but used ones. I like trilogies and series. I prefer hero. 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore I also read Imaginary Friend and loved it. I sometimes use whatever is handy for a bookmark such as; boarding passes. I prefer used books. I usually tell everyone to read Shadow of the Wind one of my favorites. Top 3 genres Murder/Thrillers, phycological Thrillers and Historical Mystery. I borrow from the library but I should just read the books I own. I am plot-driven too. I usually read medium length books like you 300 to 400 pgs (edited) 5y

EadieB @Butterflyamore I enjoy short chapters too. I like books that make me scared but crying is good too. I like our world not into fantasy. I love audio books and always have one going. Love covers on books that attract me. I enjoy the book more than the movie. I don't watch many movies as I usually fall asleep during the movie. I read a lot of series but read a lot of standalones too. (edited) 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB Thanks for sharing your answers! I like that we have so much in common! I tagged The Chain because it is so popular right now so it will help with visibility for the post but I am reading it right now! I got it last night. I was pretty exhausted so I only made it into page 70 something but I‘m loving it so far! 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore Good idea about tagging The Chain because it did get my attention. Yes we do have a lot in common. Glad to hear you have started The Chain. It is one of my favorites but a bit scary too. Let me know what you think of it when you are finished. 5y

Don‘t mind me, just gonna nerd out over all the minute details of this one... 🤓😍
Are you pro- or anti-deckle edges? #bookquestions #debate #controversy #hottake

Skeebies05 Pro! Feels old worldly. 6y
Booksnchill Love the edges! 6y
CoffeeNBooks I love deckle edges- it seems so fancy! 6y

LitLogophile Love them!! 6y
mcipher Anti - I always think they look wrinkled and crooked and the book feels weird to hold. 6y
RaimeyGallant I don't know a lot about them, but pro? 6y
DHill Anti. I think it makes the pages harder to turn. 6y
Scott_BookInvasion I love em. It makes the book have a bit more character and gives it more or a hand-crafted feel. Brings me feelings of the classic books from eras past 6y
Aims42 Team Pro 👍🏻 no real reason why, I just think they make the book look and feel fancier lol 6y
umbrellagirl PRO! Literally just started this and I noticed straight away. 6y
TimSpalding Proooooooo! 6y
kgriffith @umbrellagirl I‘ve had it since its release date and it has been taunting me. Finally started it tonight! 6y
RidgewayGirl I love deckled edges. It makes the book feel more substantial. 6y
Swe_Eva They look and feel nice, but it‘s easier to turn pages on non-deckled. 🤔 ♎️ 6y
kgriffith @mcipher fair points! 6y
kgriffith @Swe_Eva I‘ve not read many and I expected that going in, but I‘m actually finding them easier to turn. I lift from the bottom edge rather than the side, which may matter? There seems to be some air/space between the pages that isn‘t the case when they‘re flush. Like the difference between printer paper right out of a sleeve, and then after you‘ve fanned the edges to give the guide wheels a bit more tooth, if that makes sense? 6y
DebinHawaii Pro--they look so good! 😉 6y
rwmg Anti. I know all books used to be like that but it looks horrible to me, unfinished, the prinrer couldn't be bothered to do a food job 6y
rwmg Good job 6y
Swe_Eva @kgriffith That makes sense, but I turn from the side and tend to get more than 1 page at a time. Plus, I can‘t keep my hands still while I read and tend to smoosh the decking down, unintentionally (but that‘s my personal thing, so please feel free to disregard from argument 🤔🙄😂). 6y
rwmg I hate my new phone sometimes 6y
kgriffith @rwmg Ha, I fully appreciate your frustration 6y
kgriffith @Swe_Eva No disregard at all! This is exactly what I love about book discussion :) 6y
batsy @Swe_Eva My thoughts exactly 😆 6y

I‘m having a ton of fun seeing how people respond to my #Browsery question. So, Littens, I extend this question to you!

How is your day going? Answer in the form of a book title or plot.

I've been binge watching this show since Sunday lol. I'm so addicted!

I didn't know it was a book series though. Has anyone read this? And is it good?
