pickIt was interesting to see the growth of the dogs and the author and his love of his new community. There were times when I was on the fence, so to speak, about his contention that dogs make people better. Do they? I believe so. However, it isn‘t there job to do so. All of that is the responsibility of the human.

pickAfter retiring, psychology professor John Pilley got a border collie puppy and started working intensively with her. She eventually learned the names of over 1000 objects and learned various actions related to them. Here he discussing their time together and sneaks in lots of great info about learning. This is a great book and Chaser was very much alive when it was written, so you don‘t have to worry about living through her death at the end.

Hey all! Sorry I haven‘t been as active on here! I‘m trying my best to catch up on all my studies. Its getting. A little overwhelming, but I‘m still plowing through it all. I‘ve been FLYING through audiobooks, so I‘ll post my thoughts on them all once I feel like I‘m a little more caught up. Current audiobook is tagged! 🙌🏻
Unabridged Kid is obsessed with this book, based on a documentary, about working dogs. He's convinced they're basically Paw Patrol.
pickI enjoyed this book for the most part. There was an occasional wince or incredulous “did this guy know nothing about dogs” reaction to some of the things the author did (throwing a choke chain on the ground next to the dog to get his attention or correct his behavior? Seriously?). But I loved the stories about Devon himself, about his personality. I could read about that kind of stuff all day long.
