Pickpick

Trying to catch up on all my #NFNov reviews before the frenzy of #WinterGames tomorrow!

I adore Fry, and his audiobooks are delightful, so this was just as expected. :)

Read for a book club.
Did not like it. At all.
This book is a huge waste of paper.
And it‘s a huge cliche we all already know.

Also the author is a bit of a abusive asshole.
Look up him and Mary Karr.
Hard pass.

Still catching up!

Okay, now I'm officially caught up and promise to stop filling your feed with quotes. You can imagine why I picked this one for #cliche. Alternate version is "Don't judge a book by its cover." But we never do that, right?

#quotsynov17 #litsyquotechallenge

LibrarianRyan I too have been playing catchup. I understand. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LibrarianRyan We're not alone! 👏🏻👏🏻 7y
melrailey Oh I️ totally judge books by their covers. I️ can‘t tell you how many times I️ bought a book without even reading the back because the cover was pretty. 7y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @melrailey Me too! I have to force myself to read the blurb. 7y
rubyslippersreads Don't they design book covers these days so you WILL judge (and hopefully buy)? It's pretty easy to tell a thriller or YA or Christian fiction or lots of other genres from the cover art. 7y
Kodak2057 One of the popsugar prompts for the 2018 reading challenge is to read a book with an ugly cover 😂 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @rubyslippersreads They sure do - as a former marketing professional, I can guarantee you that. I always love the YA covers, but not the books. Gotta watch myself! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Kodak2057 I noticed that! I'm considering doing @popsugar2018 instead of some other challenges, just for a change next year. 7y

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."?

"Mischief managed."?

PacingTheCage One of my favorites 7y
Gezemice That is so obvious that it is #cliche for this prompt. 😉 That does not mean that it is not the awesomest quote, ever. 👍👍👍❤❤ (edited) 7y

I‘ve never read this book, and honestly, it doesn‘t really sound up my alley, but I ran across this quote on Goodreads and I kind of liked it. So I chose it for the #cliche prompt for #quotsynov17. #quotsy @TK-421

“Jane‘s claim that her books were her children is cliche of cliches for the childless lady-writer...”

A little late for a #cliche quote, but just stumbled upon this this morning. #quotsynov17

This quote works both for #cliche and #underground. And it is very pretty, too.

Gezemice I love that book. He has so many great quotes. Many of them lampoons clichés. 7y
IndyHannaJones I'm behind in my TPs! Ah there is just enough time to get to all the books I want... 7y
