I remember being completely terrified by this movie as a teen. I've always been more frightened by scary stories without supernatural elements. For some reason, it has taken me this long to actually pick up the book.

A question to ponder:
Have any of you been tempted to "Go all Annie Wilkes" on a favorite author because of a twist or character death you didn't expect? ?

I have finally completed it! More than a year after first opening it.

There are a handful of stories in this collection that I really enjoyed, but most of them were just meh. I realize I may not be the fairest judge, as I often feel like I need more than a short story can give me. More detail, more character development, etc.

I've been slowly meandering my way through this tome of #shortstories for OVER A YEAR! Yesterday, I made the decision that I will not start any new books until I have turned the last page of this one. Only 3 stories and the closing notes remain.

Most of the references to TV and Movies were lost on me. I suppose that is a product of my age. I was 5 when this book was originally published. I knew slightly more about the books mentioned. There was a Forward that was written in 2010 which referenced Horror with which I was more familiar. Well written and an interesting topic, but reading was a chore due to my limited knowledge. #completecatalogue #stephenking #nonfiction

This was a good one. I love the amount of tension built throughout the book. And I love getting to know Charlie and I love that Andy's motives are solely to do what is best for his little girl. That father-daughter bond was my favorite part of the book. John Rainbird is terrifyingly diabolical. This short story creeps me out a lot. It is like a more modern version of Poe's The Cask of Amontillado, which was the first story I ever read that really scared me. I am not the hugest fan of #shortstories, but this one is absolutely stellar! #stephenking #completecatalogue
