4 ⭐Jane Yolen is a master storyteller. Along with the illustrator in less than 20 words, they can have a book from beginning to end. It‘s a perfect book for bedtime for that last push right before sleep.
In Goodnight Moon, a little bunny says goodnight to the familiar objects in his room, from the moon to the quiet old lady whispering “hush.“ With soothing rhythm and gentle illustrations, this beloved bedtime classic creates a peaceful atmosphere, making it the perfect story to help children wind down and settle in for a restful night.
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown is a timeless children's classic that offers a calming bedtime experience. Through simple, repetitive text and soothing illustrations, it portrays a bunny saying goodnight to objects in its room, fostering a sense of security and comfort. The book‘s gentle tone promotes peace, rest, and the comforting routine of bedtime.
This book will be very useful in the beginning of the year as a lesson to help younger students learn the importance of raising their hand and not shouting out. I also think the teacher can get very creative with lesson planning to help get the point across.
I would use this book as an introduction to rhyming as it is an easy to read poem book.
