For me it‘s the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. ❤️ I have others that I love, as well. But this has got to be my favorite. What‘s your #FavoriteAdaptation ?

Exbrarian I'm not compelled to rewatch / reread anything very often. That said, I watched the old and new animations of Watership Down. The new one on Netflix is underrated IMHO.

#stephenking17 Day 20 Yes, this is a VHS. We still have a VCR and haven't replaced all of our old VHS tapes. 😬I'm going to go with The Green Mile as my favorite adaptation. #favoriteadaptation

Hooked_on_books I still have a VCR, too. Actually, it's a combo DVD/VCR. I guard it jealously and refuse to get rid of it. I've noticed, though, that the HD TV doesn't like the VHS tapes--the picture isn't great. 8y
Bookzombie @Hooked_on_books We still have older TVs, lol. They work and we aren't in a hurry to upgrade. We have two VCRs and I hope they last a long time. 🙂 8y
ValerieAndBooks We have a VCR/DVD combo, and the DVD part doesn't work anymore but we still use it occasionally for the few VHS tapes we still have! 8y

Choosing my favorite adaptation was hard for me I loved so many of them but I decided to go with Misery. Kathy Bates is one of my favorite actress's and she was the perfect Annie Wilkes. And James Caan as Paul Sheldon was great as well. Don't pass on this one!!!! #stephenking17 #day 20 #favoriteadaptation

javadiva I loved the audiobook! Sometimes the narrator sounded just like Bates! I giggled every time she yelled "dirty bird." 8y
Bookladylinda @javadiva that's great!!!! 😄😄😄😄 8y
Samary This is one of our Book Club books coming up this year!!! I'm so anxious to read it. The movie is fantastic! 8y

#StephenKing17 #day20 #FavoriteAdaptation I have seen a lot of his adaptations without knowing that were from his books first. For that reason im choosing The Green Mile, never read the book but love the movie and remember seeing it a lot when i was a child so it holds a special place, the same goes with The dead Zone.

True confession time: even though I know many of them are crap, I have a soft spot for just about all adaptations of King's books, novellas, & short stories😱😂 Even Quitters, Inc., Sometimes They Come Back, Pet Sematary... I'll watch 'em all😂.

But I would hold up The Mist & The Shawshank Redemption as excellent films to anyone, worth watching by all audiences.

Indexasaurus The Mist was great, forgot about that one. The ending was so shocking. 8y
Texreader I doubt I've seen any movie more than Shawshank. Every time it's on we just naturally stop there and watch it. How can you not? What a movie/story. 8y

For my #favoriteadaptation there was no way I could pick just one. First there was Carrie. This is the first R rated movie I ever went to. My older brother and his girlfriend took me and I will never forget it. I saw Stand By Me on my fifth wedding Anniversary. We were so poor that a movie was a real treat. It's one of the few my husband and I saw in the first seven years of our marriage. Honorable mentions: Misery, Shawshank, Green Mile.

coffeenebula Solid picks! All the goodies 🎬 8y
