Freaky Friday | Mary Rodgers

How‘s everyone doing? Are you enjoying yourselves? Have you found any new favorite books? Have you read anything you‘ve loved to hate? 😉 Have you read more or less than you thought? Are you planning to continue your list in the coming month(s) or are you done once April is?

We‘d love to hear from you! 🖤

I‘ve read fewer titles than anticipated (despite ignoring all my other reading obligations; sorry book clubs! 🙈) & will be reading into May.

corycatelyn I've read 2 so far and have 1 more to read. I didn't have time to get to the other library 🙈 6y
Librarybelle I plan to continue reading into May. I didn‘t read as much as I hoped this month but so plan to continue reading for however long it takes! 6y

monalyisha @corycatelyn @Librarybelle I place the blame squarely upon my husband‘s shoulders — and Law & Order SVU. He‘s become obsessed recently & I find it impossible to focus on a storyline when such a plot-driven, shocking narrative like that is blaring in the background! I keep begging him to go back to watching his video-game live streams. 😅 I found them so blissfully boring! (edited) 6y
Cosyreader I will definitely be reading well into May because I bought so many on the list and have read hardly any! Oops 😂 6y
monalyisha @Amy-Laura I only bought a few but I borrowed approximately one billion from the library. 😅 I know I have to take a short break at the beginning of May to try to squeeze in a couple of real-life book club books (“Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” & “The Assimilated Cuban‘s Guide to Quantum Santeria”) but then I‘ll be right back at it! 6y
Billypar I've read 3.5 so far, which is about what I expected, but less than I would have liked. But I am 3 for 3 as far as the ones I've finished- all were excellent- Atonement may be a favorite (and one I might not have tried had the audio not been available on Overdrive with no wait). The two current ones I'm reading now are also quite good. So it's been a great success for me ☺️ 6y
zezeki I fell behind on my reading plan, as I aways do (sigh), so I'll probably continue reading in May. 6y
monalyisha @Billypar I love that! 🙌🏻 I remember really enjoying “Atonement” when I read it for a college course. 😊 6y
monalyisha @zeljka I know what you mean! The best laid plans... 6y
Laughterhp I‘ve read 6 so far! I‘m going to try and continue into May for a few more of them. 6y
monalyisha @Laughterhp Slayin‘ it! 🖤⚰️ 6y
Cosyreader @monalyisha yep I had to take a break to read a book club read too! I swear these books will be read eventually 😅 6y
Schlinkles I‘ve only read 1, way less than I intended, but had other reading obligations. I‘m just going to extend it until I finish all that I had planned to read. 6y
ErikasMindfulShelf I‘ve read 4 so far which is less than I was hoping. I‘m almost done with another one. It‘s been fun reading books I didn‘t have on my radar. I might continue in May with the once I have bought but I would probably read some other books I‘m eager to read but haven‘t gotten to yet since they weren‘t on the #freakyfriday list. 6y
bookandbedandtea @RainyDayReading I've only read 3 so far, and only 5 for the whole month, which is way low for me. I bought 10, I think, so I'll keep reading them until I get through them all. 6y
sprainedbrain I had 12 from the list of my lovely match @MissAimz_55 that I hadn‘t read, and so far I‘ve read 7 of them, and I‘ve enjoyed them all. 😃 I hope to get to the rest of them before the end of the month (Dewey‘s next weekend should help), but if I don‘t I will be finishing them in May. She has excellent taste, but I think my favorite so far has been (edited) 6y
LapReader Still ploughing through Pillars of the Earth but I love it. Have some audio books I may get a chance to start today on the way home on the bus from my family farm. 6y
TheLibrarian I‘ll be continuing onto May. Life has gotten into my way of reading this month. 6y
MissAimz_55 I'm loving it so far! I am not reading as much as I thought I would because of starting a new job and travels but I've read 4 so far but I'm half way done with 2 more. I'm hoping by end of month I'll have finished 7-8. She gave me quite a few chunksters 😂. I would say my favorite was Attachments bc it introduced me to a new author. Also thanks to @sprainedbrain I have gotten into audio books! 6y
cobwebmoth I've read 4 so far. I wanted to read 8 of them. I have the other books, though, so if I can't finish any more this month, then I can still read them later. I've enjoyed the books that I've finished. 6y
MissAimz_55 And I created a bullet journal layout to track so I'm not stopping in April, going to tackle that #freakyfridaytbr 6y
RachLovesTV I've read 5 and have really liked them all! I'm hoping to read a few more before the end of the month, but the ones I don't get to will definitely stay on my list, so I can pick them off over the coming months. The one that is most likely to stay on my favorites list is definitely 6y
MaleficentBookDragon I haven‘t read as much as I wanted to so far, so I‘m continuing on past April to get at least 5 books from the list . I also think it will take me a while to finish (edited) 6y
Mdargusch I‘ve read 4.5 out of 7. I think I will finish 6 this month. And I love, Love, Love Jane Steele which I‘m not sure if I would‘ve ever gotten around to reading. Thank you @monalyisha and @Clwojick for organizing this. I have really enjoyed it! 6y
monalyisha @LapReader I haven‘t read that one but it definitely looks like a commitment! 6y
monalyisha @irre I know! There are at least 3 more that I want to read from my match‘s list after I finish my current (third) read, but I‘ve also created a list of other non #freakyfriday related books that I‘m itching to get to *as soon* as I can! 6y
monalyisha @MaleficentBookDragon I think 5‘s a totally respectable number! 🙌🏻 6y
monalyisha @Mdargusch Love that you found something you adore! & you‘re welcome. 😊 6y
monalyisha @Schlinkles I definitely thought I‘d read more, too. Just keep plugging along! 👍🏻 You can do it! 6y
monalyisha @bookandbedandtea I‘m only on my third book, too! Slow month for me, as well. 6y
monalyisha @RachLovesTV your enthusiasm for “Dark Matter” makes me want to read it even more than I already did! 6y
monalyisha @cobwebmoth Half‘s not bad! I think I‘ve made it through about half of the titles that I *really* wanted to read, too. 6y
monalyisha @MissAimz_55 Love your organization! 🤗 And Rainbow Rowell is one of my faves! She always gets me out of a book slump. I‘m always looking for readalikes but she‘s an author unto herself. (edited) 6y
monalyisha @TheLibrarian It‘s been an unexpectedly busy month for me, too! 6y
monalyisha @sprainedbrain those are great stats! I wish I could participate in the readathon but I‘m working all day Saturday. 😔 (edited) 6y
Clwojick Though I‘ve been busier than expected this month, So fat I‘ve read 9 novels, and 5 children‘s books that were recommended to me by @Tiffy_Reads ! I‘ve been really enjoying #freakyfriday and I‘ve definitely found a few new favourite authors. ♥️ 6y
RainyDayReading I‘ve only managed to get fully through one book and halfway through 3 others, I‘ve had far less time to read this month than I had hoped 😪 But! I do plan to continue on with my list in the coming month(s) until I get it done. @bookandbedandtea 6y
MeganAnn I‘ve finished 6 books and started 3 more, plus listened to one audiobook this weekend with my family while we were traveling. So far, they‘ve all been good reads that I‘ve really enjoyed and two of them have been added to my own list of favorites! I don‘t think I‘ll finish all 13 on my list, but I definitely plan to continue into May after a short break. @monalyisha has excellent taste and many of these are books I had never heard of before 😍 6y
monalyisha @MeganAnn Are the two you‘re talking about the Gaiman & Hoffman? ✨ 6y
MeganAnn @monalyisha actually it‘s the Hoffman and Belleweather Rhapsody! The Gaiman is almost a favorite, but I can‘t quite put it on that list yet. There‘s a good chance that a reread would put it over the edge though! 6y
monalyisha @MeganAnn Oh, nice! 🙌🏻 6y
RachLovesTV @monalyisha I'm actually a little surprised myself how much I keep thinking about Dark Matter, haha. It's really a unique story and has some great thought-provoking moments. 6y
