Midwife Sarah B. Malloy & her Detective husband,Frank Molloy are tasked with a murder to solve when their ex-gangster friend Jack Robinson goes to them, worried he will be targeted as the murderer for reasons he wishes to keep from society‘s eyes. The prominent society banker who is murdered is despised & hated all over the city for his despicable deeds. This is a tale of how one man‘s violent behavior wreaked havoc in the lives of people.🔽
The 2nd book in the Gaslight Mystery series (#SeriesLove2024). This time Sarah gets involved in the world of the “Charity Girls”, trying to help a client determine who murdered her sister. The mystery was good, but what is wonderful about these novels is the evolution of Sarah and Frank‘s relationship. I look forward to the next in the series.
Someone is murdering young girls, but no one really cares because they are girls with “bad reputations.” Sarah gets angry about the injustice and sets out to solve the murders. The story was interesting but I knew who the murderer was VERY early. Sarah and Frank, though, not the stories, are the reasons to keep reading this series. Picked up Ordinary Grace again. #audiowalk
I put aside Ordinary Grace for a bit because this book is only available on Audible Plus until 9/12. I like Sarah, but she is naive. And Frank! He‘s so resistant to any kind of help from anyone for anything! He just makes everything harder on himself. I think I know the murderer all ready, but I could be wrong. #audiowalk
March #BookSpinBingo I don‘t anticipate having much reading time but I definitely want to read The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane to finish #Booked2022 and my two #Bookspins, and my #LMPBC The Silence of Girls.
The storylines all entertain me. I love how this author presents old New York City and does not shy away from the dark side. So good!
Yes I‘ve binged this. It was all I could do for the past week and it really gave me moments of respite. I love this series.
I like this historical mystery series with a midwife and police officer solving a crime together.
