This book is brilliant. Laini Taylor is a master storyteller. The characters are well written with a mix of the heroic, damaged and villainous. I didn't want to put this book down as the story swept me away. With a sucker punch ending I'm so glad I have the second book on my TBR pile

I love this series and any fantasy book by Ian Irvine. I even got my mum hooked on his books which says a lot as my mum never reads fantasy. This series is an epic adventure with strong female characters. There are battles, magic and suspense. With 4 books to get your teeth into what are you waiting for?
