When reading anthologies/short story collections or books outside my fave genres that don't hold enough suspense, I might throw in one or two other reads for distraction.

I love this series and any fantasy book by Ian Irvine. I even got my mum hooked on his books which says a lot as my mum never reads fantasy. This series is an epic adventure with strong female characters. There are battles, magic and suspense. With 4 books to get your teeth into what are you waiting for?

I was 14 when we were given this book for GCSE English and it became an instant favourite. I loved the characters especially Atticus and the mysterious Boo Radley.
