Should be my last book post of the day! I finally read this one! It‘s been on my TBR since we first did #AuldLangSpine originally #NewYearWhoDis and it was on @BookNAround ‘s list! (I think).

This was a great read. Probably would have read differently a few years ago. An Anishinaabe community goes dark and they don‘t know why. They lose power, tv, internet, everything and don‘t know why. They have to figure out how to survive in the winter.

I didn‘t love this book. It was just okay. I did speed up the audiobook to get through it. It was just very repetitive and she had the same thoughts constantly. She was also kind of dumb.. like all this damage was happening to the farm and she‘s like oh no big… and refuses to tell the police and it‘s THOUSANDS of dollars in damages. Maybe if we got both perspectives it would have been better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This one is SAD!! It takes place over about 8 years. Them as teenagers and then over the course of their early lives. Every year Tom creates a scavenger hunt for Cassie for Christmas. When Tom dies (not a spoiler), she has one last scavenger hunt to do. There is also a lot of relationship drama. I really enjoy Emily Stone‘s books.

This one wasn‘t so much a Christmas book (though they do celebrate Christmas), Annie walks in on her husband having sex with another woman. She decides to leave him and finds this seaside town to be a guardian and finds friends and a new passion. I really liked this one.

Low pick for me because everything could be solved with an honest conversation and listening to each other. It also annoyed me that everyone laid the blame on her and not the brother whose idea it was! (Fake dating)

Finished my first book of December. I‘ll do all the hashtags in the comments later! This one was okay. It was SO predictable and a bit on the long end. I was ready for it be over and 50 pages shorter. There was a lot of cheek kissing (not sure if that‘s a Scottish thing).

My old pup had surgery today. Got a tumor removed from his ear, so his head is all bandaged. He‘s finally relaxing and not asking for water. So I could get some reading in.
