pickOddly lovely. The title perfectly represents this collection of short stories and short comic panels, portraying all sorts of love…. I love Audrey‘s imagination, and although I‘m usually besotted with her artwork too, it was a great collaboration with her partner, artist Eddie Campbell. ‘Digging up the Cat‘ was my favorite. Went to the library really not intending to borrow , just keeping a friend company and an outing for me. Local library just open for borrowing this week. So lots of books being displayed in the spaces where computers were.

First catch-up post - this is a collection of shorts from Audrey Niffenegger illustrated by her new husband. Some new, some newly illustrated, some never previously published. It is a fine collection. Even some of the lesser tales are boosted by excellent writing.

pickI really liked this collection of short stories and art. It is a fast read and I had read a couple of them before. As a side note, I love this quote.

so-soI have problems with short stories and with comics (and with podcasts that aren‘t long enough)—they go by too quickly and I have a hard time grabbing onto anything tangible about them. So a collection of short comics was just never going to be the thing. There are some of these I really liked, there were lots of cats, but overall I felt like I was seeing too many of the cracks in a bunch of similar stories mushed together.

Every single story in this anthology is amazing. These 150+ pages took me on a roller coaster of emotions and left me thoroughly satisfied. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
