LittleMummyMe

"We need hope as much as we need bread and meat,” he interrupted, his eyes clear for a rare moment. “We need hope, or else we cannot endure. So let her keep this hope, Feyre. Let her imagine a better life. A better world.”

East of Eden | John Steinbeck

If you're looking to be more familiar with Steinbeck and don't want to dive into his more depressing work just yet this is the perfect book. I love the characters and he developed them very well. Cathy does seem unrealistic at times but it makes you wonder "Hm a human may be like her". She's a sick horrible human being. I love the setting too.

Big Magic is perfect for creative spirits especially those who have a wounded relationship with their art. This book saved me on so many levels and re-lit my creative flame. It helped me accept that YES you can have a day job and still do what you love. This is a must for any creative!

Reading a good book against a beautiful backdrop does wonders for the soul. This was taken in Zurich at one of my favorite parks (Lindenhof) during the fall. Where do you like to read?

This would be a lovely book to read at any time, but was especially fitting before my trip to Rome last week. We stayed near to where Doerr and his family lived during their time in the city and explored many of the same places. So fun to combine my reading with 'real life'! Here's the view from the Ponte Sisto at sunset. And if anyone wants a great B&B near the Basilica, A Casa di Nannali is AMAZING 🙌🏼
