I had my last tutoring session yesterday with a student who‘s been reading this on and off all year to practice his Hebrew decoding skills, but leaving it in the middle of a chapter was driving me crazy 🤪 and reading children‘s books is good for my language skills, so I pulled it off the shelf and read it for my own amusement this morning 😄

Sace A long time ago I was pretty decent at decoding the Hebrew of the siddur. I should pull out the books I used to learn Hebrew and refresh my skills. Your post has inspired me. (edited) 5d

IndoorDame @StaceGhost this one is actually an old copy from friends who lived in Israel in the 80s, but you can find Hebrew versions of almost any kid‘s book over here. I often teach out of them cause they‘re just more fun than workbooks. My favorite is Madeleine! 5d

TheBookHippie @Bklover I change the pins constantly each pin has a story - IF you read with me, you get a story and you pick the pin to hear the story. It also is in your face on my beliefs on social justice issues, it's brought some fun conversations in the store when I run errands after school .........bahahahahahaha....... 9mo

The main branch of the library in my hometown is slated to be closed after the new one is built. Many memories in that library. I can remember the exact corner I‘d run to every time to find yet another Little Bear book before I later moved on to Amelia Bedelia and others shown here. As my granddaughter grows maybe I‘ll be able to #turnbacktime just a little bit by sharing some of these stories with her.

Alright, these easy readers might seem a little silly to read for the readathon, but I bought them recently after really enjoying reading aloud A Kiss for Little Bear with my son. That first one is still my favorite, but the rest will be fun to read with the little guy too. I just love the Sendak illustrations and Little Bear's Visit is a Caldecott Honor, so I wanted to read them all through once on my own. #24in48
