Change of Address is on the short side. Apparently this is the year of novella for me. This was pure fluff. Don't get me wrong there's some heavy stuff with disabilities and PTSD and asshole parents but the leads' relationship was no drama and the service dog is done perfectly. Actually, this is one of the better representations of disability I've ever read. #suchapick #FLUFF #workingdoggo #mademehungry

I enjoyed this quiet, absorbing read about a murder in Shenzhen, told from different perspectives. Both Chinese and ex-pat protagonists, sympathetic characters, a deep understanding of HK and China but treads lightly. Some wonderful meals (#mademehungry)! I liked the warm, straightforward tone. Not quite, but a little like Murakami.

Who didn't get hungry reading these books? I feel like half this series was descriptions of wizard food and candy #septphotochallenge #somethingforsept #mademehungry

There were so many lush descriptions in this book, especially of food. Reading this book made me so hungry - enough so that I actually told the author about it when I met her. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge #mademehungry

quirkyreader I love that piece of carnival glass. 8y
aeeklund @quirkyreader Thank you! I love carnival glass so much! 8y

This is a lovely little story about an American in Paris who fell in love with the French and their cuisine. The book comes with all these recipes that sound so yummy. #septemberphotochallenge #somethingforsept books that #mademehungry

This book definitely #mademehungry and it includes recipes too! The murder story is fine, but it's the authentic local color and fun characters that make this cozy mystery enjoyable. To get the rest of the recipe, you have to get your own copy!

This book definitely #mademehungry. All of her books highlight food, but this one centered on it when a celebrity chef passes away, leaving a mess for his family to clean up. Recipes included which only served to make my mouth water even more! #somethingforsept #septemberphotochallenge @RealLifeReading

I know this book is not the typical food book, but I spent so many Sunday dinners at my Italian grandparents' house (great-grandma included) that this quote always make me hungry. #mademehungry

Smrloomis I loved this quote, too. It made so much sense to me. 8y
Sue I know what this is trying to say - but my great grandparents were dirt poor and my grandfather grew up on dripping (ie solidified meat fat) sandwiches. 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 @Sue Mine too and I understand what you mean. My grandmother meant well, but they had never had any money and saved every scrap of everything to conserve. They did do well with fish they caught and she made a good berry pie. 8y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled 😂 sage advice!! 8y
youngreadrshelf @Sue I know it doesn't always evoke the same feelings in all, but for me it just reminds me of family gathered around the table and enjoying each other's company with good food. 8y

I love stories that have interweaving narratives that come together in unexpected ways and this book does that so well. It's a story of war and poverty, a coming-of-age tale, and a search for identity and origins all wrapped up together. And it will make you crave pho. I read it a few years ago on a plane and found the nearest pho restaurant as soon as we landed. I'm telling you, it's powerful. #somethingforsept #mademehungry
