HF set in 1800‘s. It‘s about Seol‘s life, a demo girl working in Bureau of police. She would be involved in a murder investigation. Triggers are related on how women were treated in this time. Seol sometimes is an annoying character. I don‘t know how real/accurate is Seol duties/involvement with the police in this time. I liked cultural information and how murder was investigated. Slow pace reading.3.5⭐️Like it but not love it

This book is a reminder of why I still like YA fantasy. I like the world, the characters and the plot. I discussed this first book with 2 Friends from our former book club now called “the forgotten book club” since we still in limbo☺️We agree that some parts were solved in a “rush” way. It is still YA story in terms of characters behavior and some romance. But I really like it and now I need to watch the tv show and read the second book. Yes! 3.8⭐️

A book about the modern Norway and how the welfare state works and protects its citizens. We met several people, each one the protagonist in their own chapter. Because of this, the book feels more like interconnected short stories than a novel.

Finished this this other day & forgot to review!! Somewhat mixed feelings here. Loved the setting & concept, but somehow didn't connect with the characters the way I wanted to. There was also a situation towards the end where someone gets mad at someone else for withholding information, despite the fact that they were enemies literally five minutes ago & it felt a little dramatic. I really would have appreciated a more expanded Spanish glossary⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) as I'm the type of person who needs to know what all the words mean & constantly had to stop & look them up!! All in all an engaging read & I have the sequel on reserve at the library.

I got this book from @Avanders from the #HappilyEverAfterSwap - thank you!! ❤

TheAromaofBooks Also concluded #NutsinMay with 1601pgs, so not particularly close to my 2000pg goal, but this readathon ended up being bookended with weekends of fantastic weather so the husband & I were putting in a lot of hours getting the gardens set for the year!! I quite enjoy these monthly readathons even if I don't hit my goals. As always, thanks for hosting @Andrew65 !!! 4y
Clare-Dragonfly Would you say this book lives up to its delightful cover? 😁 4y

wanderinglynn I‘m the same. I‘m always looking up words, particularly foreign words. 4y
TheSpineView Awesome! 4y
Crazeedi I keep a book with new words I learn!! @wanderinglynn 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - oooo good question!! I'm going with the cover gets 5/5 & the book is close to a 4/5 so - almost! 😂 4y
TheAromaofBooks @wanderinglynn - It was weird because she had a glossary that had about a dozen Spanish words (why just those??), then three pages of descriptions of the different types of food mentioned. But for all the other Spanish words I was just on my own lol 4y

This 2021 Hugo Best Novella nominee is a fun romantic adventure through the multiverse that takes place in a wormhole-infested IKEA-like store.
