The bookish/history nerd NEED to gain the ability to time travel is strong!

[new insomnia obsession unlocked: Jacobean history, King James VI reign, letters between King James & the Earl of Buckingham]

Singout Stacked! I was passionate about the Tudors back in the day, but don‘t know as much about the Stewarts. 2w
TheIntrovertedDodoBird @Singout Enjoy! You should check out the new seven-part series called Mary & George that the book inspired. It's incredible and surprisingly very historically accurate! I was passionate about the Tudors in school. I love any book that nurtures that kind of passion, especially when it's my latest history obsession. Happy reading (and learning). 2w

This book has been on my bookshelf since college. It was required reading in a course I took on US security policy after 1945. I believe I took that course in the 1989-90 school year. #old I *may* not have completed all the reading assignments in this course, because college. 😉 But I hung on to this book because it was good. #ReadingtheAmericas2023 is a perfect reason to reread it. #guatemala #nicaragua #elsalvador #honduras #costarica

BarbaraBB This was a subject I was extremely interested in in college. I read many books about it too back then. Good idea to reread one! 1y
Librarybelle Perfect reason, indeed! 1y

This is an old friend from early adolescence and my first journeys into King Arthur/Celtic mythic fiction. Re-reading it now, years later, the writing is er…. Dense. Really dense. But, somewhat like Tolkien, very worth the magic of the journey. A unique telling of magic and what it means to be “good.”
