The second novel is the Lord Peter Wimsey series. A cozy mystery written in 1926. The story takes place in the countryside estate of Lord Peter‘s brother Gerald. Gerald is hunting with his soon to be brother-in-law. Lord Peter sees the headline saying his brother has been arrested and rushes to solve the crime. The humor of the English is ever present. This novel could be read as a standalone book or part of the series. 4/5.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I felt pretty meh towards the first two books in this series. I have book 3 on my shelf for this month, and if I don't feel more enthusiastic about it than I did the first two, I think I'm going to write the rest off, despite several people telling me they get progressively better. 1w

vlwelser @TheAromaofBooks I just finished the third book earlier and I'm firmly still in the meh camp. If I have extra time I might try another this month but I'm way behind with other stuff so 🤷 1w

TheAromaofBooks There are so many mystery series with characters I actually like 😂 Peter kind of gets on my nerves, and I found Sayers's writing to be oddly choppy. 1w

I started reading the preview of this book 2 at the end of book 1, even though I wasn‘t a fan of book 1. And I got wrapped up in book 2. So I checked it out from the library. Hopefully it‘s better than book 1. It has a much better rating on litsy at least. #authoramonth @Soubhiville
