One is forensic thriller another one is detective thriller. Both are suspense and unpredictable. 2great authors that I recommend.

On the left is The Devil Star by Jo Nesbo ⭐️
On the right is Written in bones by Simon Beckett🦴

Starting book 17 on the Tempe Brennan Series, which I am reading along with @DieAReader. It‘s always good to get back to the series, which I am hoping to get fully updated on this year.

What a delightful, intriguing new series introduced to me in another book.Evelyne Redfern, from A Traitor in Whitehall, is addicted to English detectives so she mentions various authors‘ she is reading. One of these is these the delightful Gideon Oliver,an anthropology professor, attends a conference on Gibraltar celebrating the anniversary of the discovery of the Gibraltar woman & her part-Neanderthal boy.But the celebration turns into a setting⬇️

kspenmoll For deadly tricks & “ accidental deaths.” Gideon, with his wife Julie as a sounding board, & a local police detective, sets out to solve these cases. 4w

Lunch time reading. This author was mentioned in A Traitor in Whitehall. Evelyne Redfern, the protagonist, was an avid reader of English mysteries. #serieslove2025

Easy read with a good storyline. Tempe gets called to Washington DC to help identify human remains from a house fire. The story has the usual twists and turns of a Kathy Reichs novel and doesn‘t disappoint. Her books are never boring.

It felt right to go back to this series. Kathy Reichs doesn't disappoint. A human smuggling ring with twists I didn't see coming. My first #ISpyBingo for February @TheAromaofBooks #SeriesLove25 #Read2025 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView @DieAReader

I love this series and this one was really good! REICHS even had someone binging all the seasons of “Bones”. I love little nods like that.
As the title suggests, these victims have been burned. I enjoyed this one on audio.

The latest in the series finds Tempe in DC, asked to assist with the aftermath of a fire. It‘s a good addition to the series, with a fun wink at Bones. I didn‘t love the audio, though, which I thought was read a bit dry. I will warn potential readers that there is a brief but very frank description of what happens to human bodies in fire, which might be too much for some right now.

Eva_B Thanks! You‘ve just reminded me to reserve this at my local library! 😊 3mo
