A perfect title…and great characters. Two women‘s stories are told here; how they each felt they hit rock bottom and how they utilized their experiences to build a strong life and better relationships. I think any of us would love to have the Cobblestone Quilt Circle as our friends.

4/5⭐ As a reference it's wonderfully informative with tons of illustrations and photos. The author uses muslin to demonstrate so many variations of gathering, shirring, ruffles, flounces, godets, pleating, smocking, tucking, cording, quilting, stuffing, and darts. She also shows how combinations of these methods can be used to produce beautiful patterns in creative projects. I can see why this book is recommended in crafting circles so often.

Weaves the stories of a quilting circle together. I thought it started off with promise but started flagging at the halfway mark.
I think I prefer the movie.

If you only read one book on feed sacks and their place in the history of American fashion, sustainability, the garment trade vs. domestic sewing, etc., this should be that book.

The volume is printed with full color photography throughout with hundreds of prints, labels/logos, and historical illustrations/photography from periodicals and flyers about reuse of the sacks in various applications. Highly recommend!

Finished my last 2023 read early this afternoon (The Rose Code by Kate Quinn) and this was my final count for the year.

I don‘t know if I will set a book goal for 2024.

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I might try the page goal this year 🙃 4mo

Have you heard of a Man Called Øve? This is the American female Christmas version! Two women have given up on Christmas. When a poor immigrant family next door has an emergency, a series of events, and a quilt, bring a myriad of people together to save Christmas and bring good cheer. An adorable story I‘d definitely make a regular holiday read. #Snowangels #WinterGames
