Time to admit failure with the #litsyclassics challenge; it's mid-November & I've only read 7 out of 26 books. I need to crawl #underarock 🙈 It's a superb idea @Sarah83 & thanks for initiating it! I've read some of my best books this year because of it I have a list of books to read *next* year. I realise I'm not much of a reading challenge person & very much a mood reader after all. To more classics in 2019! 😆🙌🏽 #NoFemmeber @Billypar @Cinfhen

Cathythoughts Oh dear , dear , dear .... 😂. 😘 7y
KathyWheeler I‘m a mood reader as well, so the only reading challenge I‘ve ever been successful at is the Goodreads one where the only constraint is the number of books, and that‘s a number I chose and can adjust. 😄 7y
erzascarletbookgasm Haha! The graphic! I‘ve read some of my best books because of #litsyclassics too! ❤️ Here‘s to a more successful reading challenge next year! 🥂 7y

GlassAsDiamonds 😂😂😂 I‘ll join you under the rock!! I attempted a reading challenge earlier in the year and failed at it dismally as well! Maybe next year...: 😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂🤦🏻‍♀️ 7y
CarolynM I've been a total failure at the reading challenges too. I've decided it's just not my thing. I like the designation "mood reader" - I think I might borrow it? 7y
eanderson I stink at reading challenges too! That‘s why I mostly read what I‘m in the mood for. You did better than I would have done!!! You are awesome! You‘ll rock next year!! 👏👏🤗 7y
Cinfhen Reading classics is hard!!! That‘s why I like #pop19 or #booked2018 #booked2019 the prompts are pretty open ended that u can read whatever your mood desires and still make it fit into a challenge prompt!!! 7y
Amiable I'm not a challenge reader, either. Feel your pain! 7y
TrishB I‘m rubbish at challenges, knew this after my first year on Litsy! 7y
Cinfhen Love your graphics!!! 7y
rockpools On the other hand, a whole 7 classics!👏👏👏I suspect that's 7 more than I've got through this year 😝 7y
batsy @Cathythoughts 😂❤️ 7y
batsy @KathyWheeler I hear you! I like that I can also adjust the number to avoid failure if necessary 😂 7y
batsy @erzascarletbookgasm Thank you for the vote of confidence. I'm sure you'll rock this year's challenge! Here's to us 😉🥂📚 7y
batsy @GlassAsDiamonds No problem, it's a very large rock and roomy and quite cool, away from the sun 😂❤️ 7y
batsy @CarolynM I've borrowed the term from other Littens... Seems like there's quite a number of us mood readers out here, we're in good company @TrishB 🙂❤️ 7y
batsy @eanderson Thank you, you're so sweet 😁💕 7y
batsy @Amiable High-five! :) 7y
batsy @RachelO Haha! 😘 7y
batsy @Cinfhen I'm the nerd that enjoys the classics, Cindy, but I always forget the part where I'm lazy and moody 😂 You are very convincing about #booked2019 however, I suspect I might be tempted 🤦🏾‍♀️😆 7y
sprainedbrain This post made me 😂! I say you‘re not a failure because you‘re a reader, and we still love you no matter how you do in a challenge. 😃 7y
saresmoore Bahahaha! I need this meme for my inspiration wall. I confess that I, too, have failed pretty spectacularly at the Classics Challenge. I just kept reading books that began with the same few letters! #rudeladyreadersfail But I‘m stubbornly considering more reading challenge for next year. Penance? Self-flagellation? 🤦‍♀️ 7y
mabell I can't do challenges either! 😂 I got through one season of Booked2018 - that's a 25% = F = failure. 😆 But just doing that little bit, I read things I enjoyed and never would have picked up on my own! 7y
alisiakae But you read 7 classics!! That‘s still an accomplishment! I‘m finishing 2 challenges for the first time in my life this year, but I bailed on the classics challenge. I think co-hosting #Booked2018 helped. 😂 7y
batsy @sprainedbrain Aww thank you 😁❤️❤️ 7y
batsy @saresmoore Hahaha reading books that begin with the same letters! That made me lol 😂 It's tough to stick to the rules! No doubt if I see another challenge I'm going to perk up and make another list, as well 😆 #rudeladyreaderswillfailagain #andfailbetter 7y
batsy @mabell So true! I've read books I would have taken forever to get to otherwise. I think that makes us winners 😄❤️ 7y
batsy @4thhouseontheleft Thank you, it does feel good to have read those! Books are great 😆 Great job on hosting booked2018 and being on track to finish two challenges! 👏🏽👏🏽 7y
quietlycuriouskate So, where do I get the T-shirt? 😁 7y
batsy @kathedron It would be perfect as a tshirt! 😆 7y
LauraBeth brb - gonna tally all of the classics I read this year - should take me all of ten seconds... 7y
Redwritinghood 😂😂 7y
Centique Oh man I‘m no good at challenges either. I‘ve been setting myself mini challenges instead like “this year read at least 12 books from own voices in countries youve never read about”. More achievable for me to have small goals. Still I have to face up to the fact that what I really like is looking up books and making lists!! 😂😂 7y
LeahBergen 😂😂😂 7y
BarbaraBB Love this post! And if I remember well you‘ve read great books this year so never mind the challenges 💜 7y
Billypar What a great meme- I'm hearing it sung in my head 😂😂 This reminds me that I need to check on how I'm doing on my goal of reading from 25 countries- easier than classics because it's broad enough that you can always find something to fit your mood. But without the challenge I end up buying so many more American books just because they are so much more common on bookstore shelves here. 7y
merelybookish And I was feeling bad about having only read 13 #litsyclassics😜 I've sworn off challenges but I'm not necessarily swearing off making lists for reading challenges. Because that is the part I like best, apparently. 🙂 7y
rubyslippersreads I‘m another mood reader who failed at the #litsyclassics challenge too, even though they were all books I definitely want to read. But all is not lost; because @Sarah83 created this challenge, I still have my list and will try to read some of them in 2019, along with her idea of reading books I‘ve received as gifts from Littens. #litsylovechallenge 😊 (edited) 7y
rubyslippersreads @merelybookish That‘s my favorite part too. 😄 7y
Sarah83 @rubyslippersreads awww.... Thank you. I love that you like my challenge ideas. 😍 7y
Sarah83 So if you got to know seven great books this year everything is fine. 😉 That is the reason why, I made a mixture of novels, crime and children's books. So it is easier to keep going, but I am also not finished yet. 🤐 7y
batsy @Centique Those are great goals! I should consider something like that to help me read what I already own, as well 🙈 I agree with you and @merelybookish the list-making is the best part! 😆 7y
batsy @BarbaraBB Thank you, friend ❤️ it has indeed been a year of good reading! 7y
batsy @Billypar I get that & it's great that you're doing that challenge! I was trying to do a similar around the world challenge but fell off the wagon. There was #passportlitsy but that seems to have tapered off in terms of organisation/participation. I always want to read more books in translation & set in diverse places 👍🏽 7y
batsy @Sarah83 Haha 😆 And you're right! I so enjoyed the books I read for this challenge and like @rubyslippersreads said I intend to stick with my list even past 2018, so more good reads await ☺️ 7y
rubyslippersreads @batsy @Sarah83 I think we can all safely make the New Year‘s resolution to read lots of books. 😄 7y
Sarah83 Sounds great to me 😍 7y
Centique @merelybookish @batsy three of a kind we are then! I have made myself a fantasy list for 2019 AND a classics list for 2020 as well as my massive, uber everything TBR that rumbles on with a momentum all its own. 😂 7y
andrew61 I'm not sure i will finish but agree that it has encouraged me to stretch my reading. But i also like to just read randomly as well ☺ 7y
batsy @andrew61 I've seen your reviews; you've read some intriguing books for the challenge! I think ultimately that's what challenges do best—expand our reading perspective 😊 7y
kellyann28 @batsy Just wanted you to know I found this post through scrolling a hashtag and gave you an immediate follow because that meme cracked me up 😂 7y
batsy @kellyann28 Haha! 😆 It's a great meme! Thanks for the follow :) 7y
Reggie Lol, you‘re hilarious. I remember one of my reading goals back in January was to read a memoir a month and still have no memoirs under my belt this year. My goal from here to forever is just to keep enjoying reading. I can‘t do challenges because they start to put reading into “have to” instead of “want to.” I love horror and there‘s sometimes when I have to grit my teeth when that horror book from my horror reading group is staring at me. Lol 7y
batsy @Reggie I love your goal; that's the one I'm going to stick to 😆 I have a weakness for mysteries and crime fiction so that's the kind of book I reach for when life is getting too much. Sticking to a challenge is just way too hard during those periods! 7y
LaLecture Let‘s be failures together - I‘ve only read 6 😂😅. I do like challenges but I always lose track of them during the year. 7y
