As with all anthologies some are great and others not so much. But overall a good collection.

LOOK AT THE LIST OF AUTHORS!

Sone great stuff here! A wide variety of sex, violence, and gore so there‘s something for everyone!!

It should be no surprise that Jeff Strand‘s story was my favorite. Funny man!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/4

Ultimately a very uneven collection of stories - when they are good, they are very good but otherwise it was a bit of a slog 😔 THAT COVER THO!!

But since I‘ve discovered some new to me authors - I think it was time well spent. I‘m quite looking forward to reading more from Darcie Little Badger and Tade Thompson.

julesG It's a very marmite collection. 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @julesG, not Vegemite 🤣 I‘m glad I resisted my impulse to buy it when I saw it at the bookstore (checked it out as a library ebook instead) 5mo
julesG I need to try vegemite one day to be able to tell you. 🤣 5mo

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @julesG, vegemite has a stronger, saltier flavour (although it‘s been a long time since I‘ve had marmite - my Nana used to occasionally have it when I was a kid). For the uninitiated, we always say - less is more! (And butter is recommended) 5mo
julesG Thanks. I'll try to remember for when I get a jar. 5mo
julesG Oh, just found out that my UK tea dealer has Vegemite in stock. It's going to happen sooner than later 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag I always think it goes quite well with eggs (poached or scrambled) on toast or with avocado… or the classic combination which is a vegemite and cheese sandwich. Tea and Vegemite it an interesting stock combo 🤣 hope you enjoy it! @julesG 5mo

A collection of stories, each based on a painting by Edward Hopper 1882-1967. This painting is called Automat (food/drink vending machine of early 20th century). Fascinating stories🧡

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 7mo
Eggs @TheBookgeekFrau It‘s awesome how the authors “see” stories unfold around the image 💕 7mo
rwmg Barbara Pym has quite a few scenes in automats.

I don't know the author, but I do like Hopper's pictures. They are immediately recognisable and give such play to the imagination.

Eggs @TheAromaofBooks ❤️❤️☕️💙💙 7mo
Eggs @rwmg Not familiar with Pym, but an automat is a great setting for stories. 7mo

I‘m in love with the concept, and there are some great names on the list, but somehow this has still been languishing on my TBR for a few years.

The Collected Stories | Reynolds Price

Long book with quite a variety of stories short and long. Some are better than others and some are a bit odd. Mostly really good. Many have a Southern locale and somewhat autobiographical. One is about Dachau camp and the last is in Jerusalem. Worthwhile.

A charming, lovely little collection of sometimes Christmas stories.

Pratchett‘s humor continues to shine in these adorable stories. Although I could almost turn “character named Albert turns up” into a mini drinking game. 😂 I think my favorite of these was The Story of the Blackbury Pie. Didn‘t keep my nibling‘s attention the whole time, but they definitely laughed. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Nothing quite like the nibling‘s winter break and Christmas short stories to wind down after the hustle and bustle of the holiday. ❤️ #OokBOokClub

🎄 In the run-up to Christmas, I plan on relaxing with my kiddos, wrapping presents and food shopping. Other than that, I will be hibernating with a good book.
🎄 I hope to get in 30 hours reading, picking titles on a complete whim, but it must be from my tbr.
🎄 First up Sir TP's 🎅
