I blame that #tinydancer prompt. This was the first Elton John album I bought in 1973 .😳Had to hear it tonight, was rewatching Californication and they play the beautiful and underrated High Flying Bird ,the last song on the album,at Bill and Karen‘s wedding. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9V7xn6wCHKs

AmyG Well that brings back memories. 5y
Weaponxgirl Are you going to watch the Elton John biopic this year? 5y

#TinyDancer This darn Rolling Stone :the 70s book! I got it for a buck & think I don‘t need to keep it then I open it up & find another reason to keep it .This photo runs next to an article called “Discotheque to discomania”.Love it or hate it,so hard to escape disco in the #MarchIntoThe70s What brings “Don‘t leave me this Way” also spawned “Disco Duck”.

Freespirit I loved going to the disco in my twenties😊 5y
gradcat Such a fantastic picture 👍🥰 Oh, but wait—are you telling me that you don‘t love “Disco Duck”? 🦆 😂 (edited) 5y
Cinfhen Oh God!!! Forgot about Disco Duck 🙄😬🙄But awesome photo 5y
Leftcoastzen @Cinfhen I had almost forgotten about it ,then I read the article.😂 5y

There are several ballerina dancers present in this play within a book!

My staircase isn‘t as grand as the Opera‘s, but it serves the same function, so I‘d consider them equals! 😉

Day 8: #tinydancer #marchintothe70s

Okay, okay. So technically this book is not on topic, but do I get extra points for being petty? #tinyhands

@Lizpixie @Cinfhen

Christine 😂 5y
SmartSassery 😂 I had no idea this existed. 5y
Hooked_on_books Lots of extra points! 5y

emtobiasz Our cataloguer put this in children‘s books based on the format alone. I had to walk it back to her and say “uh, I don‘t think this is a kids‘ book...” 😬 5y
Tamra 😂 5y
diovival @SmartSassery You're welcome 😜😂 5y
diovival @Christine @Tamra @Hooked_on_books I could not unsee and had to share 🤣 5y

The Dance of the Seagull | Andrea Camilleri

Love Montalbano. If anyone wants a light, engaging police detective series with plenty of humour I thoroughly recommend the Montalbano Series by Andrea Camilleri.
#TinyDancer #MarchIntoThe70s

CarolynM Agreed, but start with the early ones. Some of the later ones have got a bit strange and rely on an already established understanding of the characters. 5y
Crazeedi Another series I need to look into! 5y
Freespirit I need to look into it too 5y

gradcat Omigod, you may be the only person I know who reads Camilleri...I think I love you. 🥰😂 5y
writerlibrarian The food, the crew at the police station, the ☀️ filled Sicily. i love this series. 5y
Andrew65 @gradcat Soulmates 😍 🤣🤣🤣. I read the first one a few years ago when I found a copy on a campsite and fell in love with the books. Now read the first 17 and just got book 18 out of the library. A great series that needs to be read more widely. Very quick reads too. @Crazeedi @Freespirit 5y
Andrew65 @writerlibrarian Certainly give you a strong feel of the place. Some books have a heavy focus on music, these ones the food! (edited) 5y
gradcat @Andrew65 Wow! Well, you‘re much farther along than I am...I think I‘m on number 7?!? Maybe 🤷🏽‍♀️ 5y
Crazeedi @gradcat @Andrew65 these sound like Donna Leon's series set in Venice, you should read the first one and see, there are like 20some 5y
Andrew65 @gradcat You‘ve got some good ones ahead of you. Just checked started reading them in 2011. 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi That is a Series I do want to check out. Thanks 😊👍 (edited) 5y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 welcome! If you read, I'll be interested in your opinion! 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Will let you know, put in a request for the library to buy the first one as an ebook. 5y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 just fyi they get better as they go, I just checked and there are like28 books I'm reading her latest. The character development she does is great. You definitely need to start at beginning. 5y
gradcat @Crazeedi @Andrew65 Just FYI, as someone who reads both Camilleri & Leon...I think both give such a great evocation of place...Leon is writing in Venice—a place I‘ve always wanted to visit!—and the reader learns so much about how they deal with the water there. I think both of you would appreciate the other series. Camilleri has more humor, I think. But about Venice & water, I especially remember 5y
Crazeedi @gradcat I love her interaction between Elletra and Guido and Patta. I am definitely going to get this new series to start, because I am reading the newest one in Leon's series, number 28 or so, thank you!!! 5y
gradcat @crazeedi You‘re so very welcome, also, I hope you are doing well 🥰 5y

I can't help but remember when I was a kid obsessed with ballerinas and the first ballet costume I actually got I ended just rolling around in the mud Hahaha #TinyDancer
