Here are my #Top22of22. It was a great reading year, but even though I read the most books I've ever read in a year, I didn't have too much trouble choosing my favorites. @Cinfhen

LeeRHarry Malibu Rising and This Poison Heart are in my top reads list too 😊 1y
jlhammar So many good ones! Looking forward to Take My Hand. 1y
TrishB Great choices 👍🏻 1y

#12booksof2022 #august

This was a VERY tough read, but so good. I can understand why some people didn‘t like it though, as it takes rather a black look at a mother who is diagnosed with cancer, even using the disease as one of the narrators.

sarahbarnes I agree with you - I loved this one and it completely laid me out. 1y
Deblovestoread I loved this one, too, but totally get why it would be hard for lots of readers. It didn‘t make my top 22 but was close. 1y
BarbaraBB I loved it too, it‘s in my #top22of22 1y

How crazy that I had twenty-two 5⭐️ books in 2022, and here they are! The 5% 5⭐️ rule held true again since I finished 444 books this year. Best of the year goes to Sea of Tranquility. Nine I listened to as audiobooks, and nine are nonfiction. #Top22of22

#top22of22

I read exactly 200 books in 2022 and these, in no particular order, are my favourites.

I feel like this year has been a great mix of the serious and not-so-serious. I also found some great books on prize lists, as well as gifts from friends here on Litsy.

Here‘s to 2023, Happy New Bookish Year, everyone!

jlhammar So many good ones!! I still need to get to Invisible Child and really looking forward to trying Rebecca Wait. 1y
batsy An interesting list and I'm always happy to see The Trees show up in people's favourites ❤️ Happy New Year! 1y
LeeRHarry I‘m excited that Fault Lines and After Story made it on there 😊 Screenshot ! HNY! 🎉 (edited) 1y

squirrelbrain @LeeRHarry - Fault Lines was from your #nywd list,of course, and @CarolynM sent me After Story. I read so many great Aussie books this year; Tiddas and Tirra Lirra nearly made it on to this list as well. 1y
squirrelbrain We overlap a lot I think @MicheleinPhilly @TrishB (and dare I say not just in books?!) 🤣 1y
squirrelbrain I think we have very similar taste in books @JillR 1y
JillR @squirrelbrain I think we do, I‘ve always enjoyed books you‘ve given a good review 😊 1y

I decided to join in for #Top22of22 It was hard to leave out a few, but I must say it was a good year for books. In 2022, I‘ve learned new things about myself, considered different perspectives, made magic with Baba Yaga, went back in time in a café, walked amongst gods, ran through the forest with wolves and woodsmen, and treated vampires and mummies with Dr. Van Helsing. I walked a path of healing and fantasy, and these books certainly helped.

Cinfhen #screenshot and I love how you described your reading journey 🤓 1y

I may finish another book this year, but I doubt it will displace anything in my #Top22of22 list. I had so many things I wanted to put on this list, so I limited myself to 1 book per author, no rereads, and tried to make sure I included a cross-section of the genres I read during the year. These are in no particular order, but they all made a real impression and I think they‘ll all stick with me for a long time.

jlhammar I have An Unkindness of Ghosts and The Forgotten Garden on my shelves, yet to be read. Now I‘m looking forward to them even more! (edited) 1y
IndoorDame @jlhammar ooh, those were two I went into pretty much blind and they were such great surprises. I hope you enjoy! (Though An Unkindness of Ghosts is a difficult read, check CWs if that‘s a big deal for you) 1y
Cinfhen Love that you made sure to include lots of genres😁 1y
