I drove a school bus for 10 years! I can't believe Grant Snider didn't. Maybe he did. This book is an accurate account of a bus route. The illustrations took me back to my driving days.

Here are some photos of the train display. I love how they recreated Gumdrop Crossing!😄 Every year one of our local malls has this and several other train displays for the holidays. It‘s a family tradition to make at least one stop by to see the Christmas Train Garden.🎅🏼🎄🚂 #wintergames #ghostsofxmas @BookwormAHN

Not since Suburban Nation have I read a book that so clearly explains and illustrates how land-use regulations -- some well-intentioned and some the result of greed -- have so drastically shaped our landscape and our lifescapes. A must-read for anyone who has ever complained about about parking.

This engagingly written book explores the ways that parking affects our lives and cities. For example, minimum parking space requirements raise costs and make it harder to build affordable housing, while free curbside parking can increase traffic congestion. There are no easy fixes in our car-centric society, but it is crucial to think about the implications of parking for walkability, traffic flow, climate change and urban planning in general.

SamAnne I‘ve been meaning to get to this one. Thanks for the reminder. 6mo
Decalino @SamAnne Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 6mo

I believe that this book could be best utilized in a pre-k classroom in order to introduce and or practice the classification and spelling of various colors.

The illustrations in this story contain use of value and highly intense, vibrant colors. Value is present in the use of various shades ranging from black to white to construct the engine of the train, the smoke clouds produced by the train, and the depiction of nighttime. Vibrant colors are visible as they represent each “part“ or car that helps to compose the train. Loosely formed lines are also used in order to depict the movement of the train.
